Este video fue mi regalo de cumpleaños 18. Junto con algunos otros, un amigo de mi hermana me recomendó varias bandas. Marcó un antes y un después en mi 🖤 💜
When I was just a 10 or 11 y/o Child and I first listened this band (with his alineation) I feelth nostalgia and chillin' bones. Now, 9 or 10 years later I feel this again.
oh same as me, althought I was older, around 14, but The Other Side was played by my cousin in her car, and I instantly got interested. This is one of the very few bands that can be somewhat considered in the gothic style, at least back in these days with Monika and then Ailyn, that I still play on my playlists. Sadly though, I dont follow the band anymore. I cant get behind the latest vocalist. There are only 2 songs I like since she came in, and it is exactly because both songs remind me of these old eras a lot. Elusive Sun and Fifth Column. Elusive sun sounds straight out of this album, just with that singer, and Fifth Column sounds like it was taken out of their last album with Ailyn, The Seventh Life Path.

Yo con la letra en general... La melodía es de ensueño, pero la lírica es ATERRADORA. Lo digo más que todo porque la he visto en acción en al menos cuatro ocaciones:
- La primera vez que la escuché fue en 2007-2008. La entonces novia de mi mejor amigo se intenró suicidar. Desde ese momento, ella inconscientemente arrastró a mi mejor amigo a ese mismo abismo. Afortunadamente, él se pudo dar cuenta de eso y salió por su cuenta.
- En mi caso, he pasado por ciclos de depresión donde esa pieza describe exactamente como es que actua tu mente. No es que la pieza influya, no. Es que la pieza describe como fuciona la mente de una persona con depresión.
- También he visto esos mecanismos en dos amigos míos muy cercanos, uno de ellos fue mi expareja hace como 8-10 años. Y es igual, no es que la canción induzca a nada. Es que describe como funciona el ciclo autodestructivo de la depresión, las adicciones y las relaciones tóxicas.
Irónicamente, en este momento, es un motor para yo salir de un nuevo ciclo depresivo y ayudarme a mí y a los que me rodean. Estoy abrazandola porque no me guarda secretos, sino que me advierte si me voy a sabotear.

I started off mostly into rap and r&b but got into rock/metal eventually and somehow this was the first song outside of the mainstream that I heard and I’ve loved it ever since.

I have never listened to rock because i didnt use to like but this...this made me tear a bit its just so beautiful...the voice mixed with the awesome guitars and drums..PERFECTION
Rock and Metal are two entirely different music genres. This one song in particular is Metal and Symphonic metal as sub genre. Try diving into it, you might find yourself actually enjoying it. To recommend a few symphonic bands - Sirenia (of course), Delain, Epica, Nightwish, Xandria, Within Temptation and so on.

@@daveyyy rock and metal are related genres, even metal exists thanks to rock. This song is gothic metal which is a fusion of gothic rock (a post punk style, which at the same time is a rock genre) and doom metal (metal genre).
This was my favorite song for several years after it came out.. such a long time ago now. Came back for a nostalgia trip. Sirenia 💙
