Really wonderful The pen example is too good. I believe every college going student must watch to know what matters to business as many of their fathers or mentors will not teach this important lesson- lesson for life - value for money with shop floor example - as best practice.
Interesting distinction. From my understanding in the industry Tact time = work content (manual movements & assembly) + Cycle time (if additional process with set time to perform action ex vibration welder might have a cycle time of 19 sec).
So we can say Takt time means the maximum amount of time each station of the assembly line has to complete its assigned task? Or the minimum amount of time or the mean amount of time or the median amount of time?
What if the same production line is used for multiple different products with different cycle times (müesli for example), and demand consists of a mix of these different müesli products? How would you then calculate takt time?
Hi, thank you for the video and explanations. what happened if you reduce your production hours from 8h to 4h? Does it mean you will only work for 4 hours a day? Looking forward to your response.
Hi. If is still relevant. The ultimate goal is customer satisfaction. If you improve your line to make it in 4 hours, great. There are ways to do that. However saved 4 hours us opportunity to get other client 😉. And improve revenue. Does it make sence? Let me know if other questions.
So I have calculated cycle time for a bottleneck manned station that has variation in it along with inefficiencies out of my control because it is after the process controlled by the conveyor speed. Conveyor speed is going to be increased however the calculations show that we have just barely enough to meet the demand in the positive. However in our current condition we are always working overtime even with excess overspeed due to the inefficiencies. I’ve calculated the efficiency rate at 91% that needs to be processed in an 8 hour day. How can I convince management that we actually don’t have the capacity because our efficiency rate will never be 100%? They want to rely on the show that we can?
Hi. If is still relevant. There are still other options to be checked and possibly improved. Try to define value added vs nonvalue added activities. Eliminate NVA as much as you can. Next step is waste identifucation. Overproduction is the most terrible one. There are ways to improve. After you are done with these activities, you might be able to convince management. What is your situation today? It is harder to advice without picture.
The 8 hours in the video are available working time, in other words this is effective production time. All breaks and planned stoppages have been removed already.
Cleary explained. Understood takt time only now.
Very nicely explained! Thank you!

Amazing content and illustration mate…god bless you…
Very explicit, Thanks!
super useful!! about to take my final and nail it.

thanks for the specific explanation
Superb Explanation ! Thanks
Super easy to understand
Thank you for the explanation, helpfull!
Really clear and easy to understand. Thank you mister.
i would like to know how to calculate and give allowance for each step when we make cycle time study

Keep going, fantastic contents.

instablaster...
In such case, your Takt time will be increased to 4. so, you need to hire 4 worker to fullfil the demand.

While calculating takt time , Total time of 8 hrs we have to take or reduction of breaks??

That is a new term Tackt rime
Thank you
wunderbar!!!1
Great 👍
I really like your videos, but it is so said, that you are not having any videos in German. It would help me a lot to train our production workers :-)
Man hört, dass du Deutscher bist. warum machst du dann nicht das Video auf deutsch?👀
