  • This aired May 17, 1994. I do NOT own this program, it is a fan made video strictly for educational purposes and entertainment purposes. Location Segments were directed by Ron Brody, Michael Collins and Chris Pechin. Stories include Snowboarder Save (1:26); 911 Glass Cut Teen (12:15); Plaster of Peril (20:45); and Pickup Thrown Teen (30:19). What stood out from this episode? Enjoy and discus!!!

I was 8 or 9 when this episode aired and I vividly remember my mom saying “THIS is why you’re not allowed to ride in the back of pickup trucks!”

When I was in high school, I used to ride in the back of a pickup from the school to the stables where my horses were kept. Never thought anything of it then. Then, I became a paramedic and now I know better.
If I had been the medic on that call, I would have nasally intubated whether given permission or not. -Saoirse, West belfast, NI

Nicole commented on this segment on RUclips that she had pneumonia and that is why she collapsed and fell and cut herself

15:05 one of the rare episodes of rescue 911 where the mom or step mom keeps it together while the dad panicks

20:45 was the 2nd humorous rescue besides #remorsefulburglar, and one called #rescue911dadsbaby and the segment where a boy is trapped between the bathtub and sink.

It's almost similar to the episode where a chick has plaster stuck to her torso, too😅

The guy who played Superman hurt his neck at that area and he was quadriplegic until he died. Even with the independent funds of Robin Williams to help out, they could find no way to save him.

Personally, I would have switched the 3rd and 4th segments for a light-hearted ending if I was the producer.

"At times like these the only way we can hope to save face, is to have a sense of humor."
Lol I'm dying over here! How did Shatner deliver that line with a straight face? In fact, how did he get through his on camera introductions and voiceover narrations of the more Humorous/lighthearted segments while maintaining composure?
Speaking of the humorous/more lighthearted segments, anyone besides me think those should have always been the final segments of the episodes on which they aired? I know "chimney trapped crook" from episode 512 was, as were "silent intruder" from episode 610, "laundry Shute lad" from episode 403 but aside from that, it seems like most of the humorous/lighthearted stories were either second or third in the episodes. It's quite jarring to see "potty peril" followed by "grapevine fall" in episode 416, when the order of those segments should've been switched; same goes for "water monitor mayhem" and "911 accidental gunshot" from 422.
I would've been beyond petrified of going to the office of the dentist whose daughter I had just broken up with; that added even more humor to this segment.
Seriously if I were Erik, I would've framed that thing and hung it on my living room wall!
Also regarding "911 glass cut teen," I am pretty sure, when you posted that individual segment about 13 or 14 years ago, Nicole herself actually stumbled across it and left a comment on it. Nice to hear from those who stumble across their segments from the show, with the exception of "speed dial burn save," of course.

What's the speed dial burn save about?

A woman who is boiling hamburger meat as part of dinner for herself and her kids; she was planning to make spaghetti with it, I think. Anyway as she's carrying the pot from the stove to the kitchen sink, she trips over her 14 month old daughter, whom she doesn't realize has wandered into the kitchen, and accidentally spills the boiling water and hot grease all over the little girl. The segment got its title thanks to the fact that the day before the incident, she had programmed their local emergency number into the speed dial accessory on their phone. The little girl survived, thank God and after the incident, they put a baby gate in the kitchen doorway.
I don't fully understand all of what happened but apparently, when this segment was posted before, (it was either on this channel or Allgood's, as they're the two main/most prominent posters of segments from this show,) there were people posting comments all over the comments section of that upload either mocking/degrading the little girl, blaming her mother for what happened or other random and totally messed up things; you'd have to ask either Allgood2000 or Beatle MO, the latter of whom uploaded this episode under which we are commenting, for more information on it; they can fill in the gaps a lot better than I can. Anyway, I believe either the girl herself or her mom stumbled across that posting of the segment and directly messaged whichever one of the two uploaded it, asking that it be removed.
The daughter would go on to post a video of her own on here a few years ago, in which she gave an update on where she was in life and everything; she also said in that video that she wanted to start some kind of movement/effort whereby people whose stories were profiled on "Rescue 911" would have to give their permission for their stories to be posted. Both that video, and her RUclips channel itself, have since been taken down; I'm guessing she most likely chose to delete her RUclips account.

30:19 cool trivia, the kids video #theregoesafiretruck (1993), took place here one year before this episode and season 5, and that stood out to me since this segment from 30:19 took place in the same area also.
