first and foremost i want to say i loved it. it gives off novel vibes it feels so sweet and calm but this means nothing changes, she’s still dies to douma and tomioka loses another loved one yet again😔 she won’t tell him what she’s planning. but nonetheless this was great!
The thing that hurts the most about her death is there were two lessons we really could have learned if she had survived. The first lesson being you are stronger than you think you are, no matter how weak you think you are. The second lesson being, how to live on despite your losses, and by doing so learning to focus on what you still have, could have, and will have. Finding new bonds, and strengthening current ones. Shinobu, out of all the Hashira is the best one where we can see these lessons shown and not told. I truly think that due to being rushed by the studio and her parents illness forcing her to leave her hometown to take care of them, Gotague really only killed her to put more focus on Kanao and Inosuke. It breaks my heart to think that, but her death really only served to just move the plot forward and wasn’t very necessary. There’s other ways Doma could have been fought and beaten, especially when you look at the abilities of Kanao and Inosuke, if they had been there from the beginning, or even having Gyomei fight alongside Shinobu. Unfortunately, it went the way it did, and Shinobu is the only one out of all of the Hashira to fight alone.
