    Those screws for the covers are pretty tight..was thinking about powder coat because it is not that expensive..50$ for derby and 50$ for cam cover..any color you can think of. After trying to get the screws out myself and not wanting to f' them up..and watching your video..i think ill just use a high gloss enamel and a professional like masking job. Clean it with rubbing alcohol (carefull to stay away from poly carb plate)..a light tack coat and then a final coat carefull not to cause drips or sags. The letters on the piece are not raised so you should not see them when piece is finished. Thanks for all your videos Mr. Gimpy and i look forward to more!! Take care guy!!

    if you used or there was brake clean remnants on the rag you wiped the cover with that will cause that ghosting effect on polycarbonate. just use a fresh rag every time you change fluids and take it off.

      I had two rags sitting right next to each other. One for clean wipes and one for the dirtier cleanups. Had only used the solvent one once. So it wasn’t dirty yet. But still had cleaner on it. Which is what must’ve happened. Either way. Got it sorted out. Livin n learnin 🤘🏻

    I love your Chanel, not all Harley riders are rich and can buy the most expensive one.

      🤘🏻🖤 appreciate your support homie. Definitely agree with you. These damn bikes are expensive as it is with all the yearly maintenance and new tires. I try and showcase affordability options as well.

      Next time I do a video. I’ll try and remember to show them. We have a lot of animatronics we setup for Halloween. We love Halloween at our house. We go all out.

    It was likely brake clean or even a harsh carb cleaner on your rag that will haze and discolor plastics

      It was from a rag that had just been sprayed with brake clean. I grabbed the wrong rag. 😂

    I worked in the plastics industry, do not use any heavy duty cleaners, carb cleaner, etc. it will fog the plastic

    Weird, wonder why it did that,, heat?

    • @Gimps_Garage
      @Gimps_Garage 6 месяцев назад +1

      No. Was probably some solvent on a rag that I used right before I wiped the derby cover off.

  • @jasonkimble8926
    @jasonkimble8926 6 месяцев назад

    Probably can't take the heat

    • @Gimps_Garage
      @Gimps_Garage 6 месяцев назад +4

      No. Probably was the rag that had Solvent residue on it. I ran this derby cover for 6 months. In 100+ degree weather for 3-4 hours nonstop. No issues.

      lol jasonkimble I don’t think you’re remotely close to being right here. Polycarbonate can handle the residual heat just fine.

    • @Gimps_Garage
      @Gimps_Garage 6 месяцев назад

      @@roadglide_mayhem it definitely has no issues with holding up to the heat. We get brutally hot days here in the desert and this bike runs hot on those days. Never had a heat issue with these components
