I honestly don’t know why they changed the locker when the last patch before chapter 5 was way better than current one. Now it was confusing and sometimes rage inducing when emotes are completely separated from the main outfit category. I really hope they somewhat revert this since it’s kinda a major inconvenience in terms of changing outfits between matches
They need to allow us to customize our own user interface per account that way we have more options per each user instead of these forced updates to user interfaces no one asked for

The changes to the locker are probably the most inexplicable. Like, they very objectively made it MORE complicated in what was very obviously an attempt to make it easier to navigate given the new items. But now you need to equip character, emote, wrap, and lobby customizations in separate groups and then trued to compensate by giving you all the customization presets, likely character-based, you had beforehand in every group and introduced even more visual clutter with no mass-delete feature.
Honestly out of all the seasons , even right now , I definitely prefer Chapter 2 over all other chapters. Including this new one m it just felt more….flexible and simple compared to all the ones that came after.

The mud being removed kind of reminds me of the sand being removed. They could have added it anywhere but they chose to get rid of it and it was an amazing feature and I want it back
they got rid of sand because it was a coding nightmare, it was disabled multiple times during the season because it kept being bugged, im sure it will come back one day when they figure out how to make it mechanically stable.
I love their attempt at making the gameplay more fast paced by increasing how fast the storm is. However, that change is practically useless if our characters can barely run or walk fast enough to not get destroyed by it in seconds. If they want faster storms, they have to either increase regular movement speed or increase the amount of time you can sprint. Otherwise, it’s not very fun. Having your biggest enemy be the storm is not the greatest thing when you’re supposed to be fighting other people. And the amount of bots need to be decreased more too. Still too many.
Finally! I thought I was the only one getting screwed by the storm more than players. I've gotten top 5 so many times, but the storm forces me to constantly move when I'm more of a stealth player, which has been nerfed now
Honestly I like alot about this new season. The movement is kinda weird but that's just cause I'm not used to it and I'll get used to it eventually. The only thing I really don't like is the locker change, it's so weird having to go to all the different sections in the locker for EVERYTHING, plus I had all my presets organised in sections like my mains, randoms, icons ect. Now they're all bunched up and weird. Also has anyone else noticed that when you go into the styles of a skin it auto equips that skin? Like sometimes I just wanna look at the styles, doesn't mean I want the skin equiped. They also made it more difficult to favourite items, before I just had to press down on the right joystick of my controller and now I have to go down to options go down again past archive THEN favourite it. I understand making the different sections for the new gamemodes but the regular locker could have stayed as it was. Idk if I'm the only one feeling this way or not but yeah, everything else this season is pretty good though.
its a 10% difference and the stamina makes up for it as it is a faster recharge, i find myself rarely walking as im jumping, sprinting etc maybe your just a noob
Companies love changing stuff for no good reason, but when the thing you’re changing is in one of the biggest games of all time, you can’t expect people to like it. Do we want FN to feel like a “new game?” If Fortnite og should’ve taught epic anything, more people want the old stuff back.
6:40 I feel like this a much easier solution than the quests. First off, you could only do 1 urgent quest a match, and sure *some* of them were easy, but not for the average Joe player just trying to get the rewards, whereas storm circle are much more universally easy, anybody could camp and get an easy 5-11 circles, plus you could even possibly get two rewards in a single match. Overall I feel like this is a definite positive for rank, it doesn't force you to do something and you can just play out the match the way you want.
If Fortnite doesn't bring jogging back, I may not play anymore. Movement sucks now, I can't travel anywhere! Especially since the new map is huge, it really sucks. It's so hard to fight, or run away from fights. Sprinting isn't constant so it doesn't really help me when I'm out of stamina. Really hope epic at least makes us move faster.
It's literally NOT that serious😂. You can find cars almost everywhere and sprinting isn't that bad and I'm pretty sure Fortnite said something about it recharging faster
The med spray would still be usefull and preferable since it allows you to keep what ever was left of healing plus having an aditional 50 points of healing even if it's less total healing than 2 medkits it would be more versatile at keeping you toped off from storm damage or geting poked during a fight trough medalions. My guess is they removed it because of medalions since it would allow you to be at full health all the time.
Medallions don’t give you health, only shields, so even a med spray would still be good, the best combination right now it’s medallions and a med kit, or floppers even depending on your load out and the game
This is a bit of a hot take, but here me out: I think Epic vaulted exotics from the game since this is technically a remixed version of Chapter 2, and in Chapter 2 season 1 there were no exotics. I feel like they also changed movements in the game to reflect the UI/graphics overall given at the launch of Chapter 2, again further cementing the idea that this is a remixed version of Chapter 2
Out of all the changes they made with this season, for me the new locker U.I is definitely the most annoying. Back in chapter 2, I always landed at risky reels (which wasn’t a named location at the time) And I knew the location of every chest ammo box and large Ammo box, there was even a god chest there sometimes, you could only get heals for 2 or 3 people after enemies stole your heals to med up. There was a campfire around there but not in risky, we always used to pretend to be the ghost and shadow npc who traveled around the map, only worked twice, still we had fun. Now risky would only give you heals for 1 person full health 50 shield, because of the large ammo box change. Also now we can’t pretend to be npcs because of the movement change, and the map change, and now cars.
I personally feel like Epic wants to move away from its story. The lack of live events at then ends of the various seasons of Chapter 4 was kinda evidence for that fact. Pretty much, everything story related has been attached to quests and crew pack skins. I've totally lost track of Fortnite's ongoing story and I'm quite sad to see it be mistreated this way. Hopefully something happens with it this season.
I personally like the old movement better but others like the new movement. And everyone are kinda fighting over the old movement to come back and for the new movement to stay. So I think fortnite should add a new setting that says "Movement Type" this will allow you to choose the movement you want. If you want the old movement turn off "Movement Type" but if you want the new movement turn on "Movement Type". If this is possible then fortnite should definitely do this. This would make everyone happy and satisfied.

You have to be DAMN sure you wanna use it is the problem. I started chugging down a big pot saw minis, tried to stop and he just throws it on the floor and Im like dude wtf. Then while I had 2 big pots I tried throwing one to a friend, I ended up drinking it instead somehow, tried dropping it and it dropped the one I was drinking instead so I stopped and it was thrown away
i mean its no different than using a med kit at 30 health. Youre not using all of it and the rest is being disposed of. The only difference now is theres an animation of the item dropping.
I think the worst thing is that the locker sets are now seperated between skins, emotes, lobby stuff and the other new stuff. It annoys me because I had different emotes and loading screens and such for most of my sets and now I would have to switch them all seperately. And I don't understand why they changed it when it worked well enough already.

another thing is that when people made their own battle lab in creative there is no new island so no player made battle lab updates that is very sad and I hope epic gives the island to us in creative or people could quit due to no creative updates like the no weapon mods in creative too

The craziest part is that I haven’t even played the new chapter and I already hate it. When I have time to play it, I’ll be spending a lot of my time in creative maps for XP. Fortnite has changed so much with great features but horrible movement.
One change you didn't mention is the one I loathe the most, the locker change where I have to upload each section of my saved characters instead of loading all at once. Definitely doesn't encourage me to want to buy new skins just to take 5 minutes just to load my characters full set up 🙄 oh and some of my saved characters, gone from the save characters list... bad very bad change epic!
8:19 I think the Time Machine went with the rocket into the zero point, possible that was the reason why we were in different realities (advertisements) and jones probably got sucked in the black hole with us, so did the bridge aka the area where the imposters map used to take place
Chapter 5 really is looking like the worst. So many good items and features have been removed I’m honestly convinced season 2 NEEDS to be good and bring back old features just for chapter 5 to survive
I’d argue med mist is still very useful being able to move while u heal and it heals decently quick and being able to stop healing and start healing again at any time without losing the item is pretty useful especially since it healed 150 and there was also the ability to heal ur tm8s with it so it definitely is not useless
I also thing epic decreased the amound of weapons spawning. Sometimes I am going threw the entire floor just to find one item that is not even a weapon.
Everything feels better in terms of moving around and being agile. Tbh I don’t mind the speed that much but it does cause a bit of a issue sense the storm is faster
Yes I’m getting used to it. Im finding when i do start to slow down when running , i just start sliding which seems to move me faster . Overall I’m pretty happy with this chapter too
ok im ngl i love the new movement system as it feels more balanced. also removing daily quests and replacing them with match quests was an amazing decision as now you get a new quest every round meaning theres no stop to the grind 🔥
6:51 I got that one super easy because outlasting players is so much easier than shooting at them, after you clear them you get a repatable for XP. (I'm also on Uncommon 4 of the survivor medals right now because sometimes I do manage to get one or two (one time around five) eliminations in)

For the movement, the only two options that they can either go with is going back to how it was, or increase the speed.

The craziest part is that I haven’t even played the new chapter and I already hate it. When I have time to play it, I’ll be spending a lot of my time in creative maps for XP. Fortnite has changed so much with great features but horrible movement.

One change you didn't mention is the one I loathe the most, the locker change where I have to upload each section of my saved characters instead of loading all at once. Definitely doesn't encourage me to want to buy new skins just to take 5 minutes just to load my characters full set up 🙄 oh and some of my saved characters, gone from the save characters list... bad very bad change epic!

8:19 I think the Time Machine went with the rocket into the zero point, possible that was the reason why we were in different realities (advertisements) and jones probably got sucked in the black hole with us, so did the bridge aka the area where the imposters map used to take place

Chapter 5 really is looking like the worst. So many good items and features have been removed I’m honestly convinced season 2 NEEDS to be good and bring back old features just for chapter 5 to survive

I’d argue med mist is still very useful being able to move while u heal and it heals decently quick and being able to stop healing and start healing again at any time without losing the item is pretty useful especially since it healed 150 and there was also the ability to heal ur tm8s with it so it definitely is not useless
I personally like the new changes (except the storm circle cahnge, but they made it slower again)
I like the season but don't like the new lockers it's relly annoying
I also thing epic decreased the amound of weapons spawning. Sometimes I am going threw the entire floor just to find one item that is not even a weapon.

Everything feels better in terms of moving around and being agile. Tbh I don’t mind the speed that much but it does cause a bit of a issue sense the storm is faster
Yes I’m getting used to it. Im finding when i do start to slow down when running , i just start sliding which seems to move me faster . Overall I’m pretty happy with this chapter too
I was playing fortnite with my dad, and we found a port-a-fort so there is more cover than the shield
ok im ngl i love the new movement system as it feels more balanced. also removing daily quests and replacing them with match quests was an amazing decision as now you get a new quest every round meaning theres no stop to the grind 🔥

Epic dropped the ball on this season. No need to change things that worked fine. They are seriously trying way too hard.
6:51 I got that one super easy because outlasting players is so much easier than shooting at them, after you clear them you get a repatable for XP. (I'm also on Uncommon 4 of the survivor medals right now because sometimes I do manage to get one or two (one time around five) eliminations in)
this is my least favorite season, i mean i’ve built my fortnite career(not career but like) on building, and that’s been revamped for the worse and i hate it
Love how they went back to OG , and brought back Millions of players because of how simple and fun it was. So naturally , they change literally the entire game and ruin all of their momentum
I miss old fortnite.
It’s annoying to have match quests choices stay on the screen until you land. It’s blocking a good chunk of the map. And moving and building in slow motion is horrific.
