আমি একজন প্রেসিডেন্সিয়ান এবং কফি হাউস আমার মতে একটি জঘন্য জায়গা। হ্যাঁ, আমরাও exist করি।
আমার মতে আড্ডা দেওয়ার জন্য কফি হাউসের চেয়ে কলেজ স্কোয়্যার বেশি উপযুক্ত। কলেজ স্কোয়্যারের লেবু চা কফি হাউসের কফির তুলনায় অনেক সুস্বাদু।
তাছাড়াও, টাকা খরচ করে ওখানকার 'বেয়াড়া'দের রোঁয়াব সহ্য করার কোনো মানেই হয় না।
আমার মতে, পুরনো ইমোশনগুলোকে সম্মান করলেও (মান্না দে-র গানে) বর্তমান অবস্থাটা সবার জানা উচিত।

আমি একটু পুরোনো লোক, তাই nostalgia, memories তো কিছুটা থাকবেই. But এইভাবে টাকা চাওয়া ta একেবারেই ভালো লাগলো না. Earlier Shahbaz of "Foodzpah" had also pointed this out. এই episode ta দেখার পর মনে হচ্ছে Coffee Houseএর সেই আড্ডা তে আর কোনোদিন বোধহয় যাওয়া হবে না.....যেতে ইচ্ছে করবে না.

কফিহাউসে আগের ব্যাপারটা আর নেই, প্রচুর নোংরামি, বাজে ব্যবহার, খারাপ মানের খাবার, পুওর ম্যানেজমেন্ট এরকম আশা করা যায় না, বাস্তবটা তুলে ধরার জন্য অসংখ্য ধন্যবাদ 🙏🏼🙏🏼
কফি হাউস এখন জঘন্য হয়ে গেছে। সব থেকে বড় কথা ওদের ব্যাবহার। ভিডিও টা খুব ভালো হয়েছে দাদা। ❤️

So if you're not a frequent customer there ,they instantly spot you. It's their instinct. They tell you to order fast and once you're done eating, they straight on tell to leave. Even though there are people sitting there for hours without ordering anything. Also they make you sit with other people if they find you new to the place, even though the other section of the cafe is empty. The waiters there are not nice. I know lots of emotions are attached to lots of people but honestly I don't really relate to that place. For me, it's another overhyped, overrated cheap cafe.

U know what me and my x was visiting clg street and was looking for few books so after shoping ... we felt hungry and I was like obviously coffee house, a place which I wanted to visit for soooo long and heard so many good things from my father.. after entering we opted for the balcony section and ordered the servers came and asked for our order I was like can you please give us some water we will be decided by then well he left came back within 5 min without any water and asked again so we ordered and ... and I asked for water again , then he brought us food(it was hedious ),, again no water..so I asked again so after 4 times of asking we got to have some water this was in mid April btw .. anyway as soon as we finished the food server came within a minute or so he asked if I need anything else(just a formality they know you won't order anything)and gave me the bill and after returning my change they litreally asked if you are done please leave to much rush today(rush with atleast 5 tables empty within my field of vision)... I mean what the hell man from entry to exit I felt like I was in a race...and my x asks should we leave some tip,, I was like we r the one who deserves the tip...never going there again..

Don't know how coffee house is termed 'iconic' by kolkatans. There are branches of this restaurant in other cities, with better food and management, however, haven't been accorded the status of icon there. Think kolkata should be selective when granting any place iconic status. Other than history, this place has nothing special or differentiating to write home about. Presently, aantlamo aar baantlamo chhara kichui hoy na okhane.
I last visited coffee house in 2013 and the review shared by you is exactly the same what I feel about this overhyped place.
Not expecting this from a popular food court in kolkata but thanks to you dipta da ❤️
I totally agree with @TheLazyBong. The place has drastically lost it's charm...It's only running on it's heritage value. Had been there multiple times now, never impressed by their hospitality or food. You may see my own review in my HERITAGE FOOD TOUR vlog (link attached below).
I don't like the behaviour and service of Indian Coffee House, their behaviour is worst and so the food. Last time I went and it was during the month of March so it was a pretty warm weather, I was sitting in the same place at the balcony and since it was a hot weather and I went on a sunny day around 1pm so I went straight ahead and tried to switch on the fan and one of their attendant suddenly came and switched off the fan. When I again tried to switch it on, they stepped ahead and stopped me doing it by saying i cannot switch on the fan, when I asked why they just behaved so pathetic as if they are doing me a favour.

That's the only thing that I love your blog. Also hats off for this চুলচেরা বিশ্লেষন। I am also a visitor infact my favourite place at my college days but what you said about chowmin and chilli chicken,are absolutely true. I am also amazed that how can they keep their consistency(food quality) over 12 years(approximately) at the same level and still charge more.
@Dipto, you should try their chicken pakora then you will know what is the meaning of overpriced for bad food quality. Tip is not a bad thing but they demand tip from students also but the usp of coffee house was that they only charge for food and refuse to take tip but now(over 5 years) they demand tip.

Coffee house e certainly boshe golpo korte geleo, khabar ta dorkr, cha, coffee ta dorkr, ar seta bhalo na hole sotti bolte hbe, ami try korechilm cold coffee, jol thanda jol chilo. Tried the chicken omelette, it was good.
Every one in a race for extra income, including management staff also.... they are the spoiler of our emotions
