I visited San Salvador in Sept 2018. Ironically during the week most of the Central American countries celebrate Independence Day which is Sept 15th. I did guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua. I stayed in zona Rosa of El Salvador and I had amazing time. The government is doing great job trying to change the reputation. I visited the mall, went to this dope museum where they explain gang culture. Ate some delicious ass food. High recommend it. But I can’t front my very first night I had to go to ATM down the block and when I saw a security holding a rifle big gun I was pretty shocked. Had to get used to that 😅..but that prepared me for Tegucigalpa honduras which is 10x worse. And I don’t recommend any tourist travel there alone.
Your comment about Tegucigalpa is unfounded, the city is safe for the most part and have great history, plenty of restaurante and beautiful colonial towns nearly.

San Salvador is known as the valley of the hammocks "El valle de las amacas." due to its volcanic movement. Plus, in the early '70s, El Salvador was known for having award-winning coffee. El Salvador's nickname is El Pulgarcito "little thumb" due to its size compared to its neighboring countries.
Just go don’t be afraid it’s safe the beaches and the volcanoes take your breath away and of course the people are so friendly you will love the adventure, and that is what I did and I’m going again in December. 👍

My grandparents, dad, uncle and aunts are from El Salvador! They had to move to America because of the civil war. I wish I knew more about where I come from, but my grandma doesn’t like to talk about it much. She did say she used to live in the capital, and my grandpa lived in a rural area, my grandpa actually stayed there. Thanks for making this video! I’m surprised you never got any Pupusas 🫓 they’re a STAPLE! My grandma makes them all the time, they’re so good!

The average Belizean Mestizo is around 50% European(mainly Iberian),40% indigenous(mayan), and 10% African. I figured El Salvador would be the same. On reddit, most salvadoran are between 6-15% African. In El Salvador, if an Enslaved African had a child with a indigenous or mestizo woman, the child would be free. The black population mixing with the greater mestizo population with a lack of Africans being bought to the country, they basically got bred into the greater mestizo population. This happened in Mexico and other Central American countries. I believe El Salvador only had 10k slaves entering their country.
I'm Salvadoran living abroad. If you go in the rainy season, aka Salvadoran winter, then it's going to rain a lot. Pretty much every afternoon, although just isolated clouds passing by. Rain usually last about an hour. Bieber, if there's a tropical storm developing in the Atlantic or even in the Pacific coast, it'll sometimes reach El Salvador. That's when it rains for days and flooding may occur. Again, that's mostly during the rainy season. Dry season is super hot, great weather to be in the beach surfing, or hiking a volcano early in the morning. Once noon hits, it's pretty hot and you'll need to stay hydrated. Nights are usually cool though.

El,Salvador is very safe , you don’t have to worry about anything. In order for you to have a great experience, make sure to hire a tour guide.
Just go don’t be afraid it’s safe the beaches and the volcanoes take your breath away and of course the people are so friendly you will love the adventure, and that is what I did and I’m going again in December. 👍
