I bought the prime go in December and it’s good but I wish I had gone for the prime 4. The jog wheels are to small but at least I have something I can take to the woods
Really like the Denon Prime 4 but the Traktor is a must for me. For me its the best software out there and has the best DVS. Plus you cannot compete with rotating jogs on S4 :-D

Hi, referring to what you said about backspin in Roland dj-505, i found this in the user manual: When applying backspin to the jog dial, this setting lets you make backspin continue longer than the distance that the jog dial actually rotated. OFF Backspin operation occurs according to the actual distance of rotation. Short Backspin operation is shorter than with the Normal setting. Normal Backspin operation occurs longer than the actual distance of rotation. Long Backspin operation is longer than with the Normal setting Page 23 manual user.

You set it in the right order from the number one which is the prime goal small axe cut down big trees you can't get better than a mobile DJ so it will be a toss up between the dj707m and the Prime goal who needs to walk around with a heavyweight controller what you already going to find in a club ya dig.

Yes after playing with xdj-xz and prime 4, prime 4 had way more features, but it's a true 4 channel stand alone. Xz can't beat that, so I bought a prime 4

One of their main Points was it was as close as you could get to the full on Club Gear experience for 4K less. If closely mirroring Club Gear was not a big deal for you probably the Prime 4.
If native instruments made their next Traktor DJ a stand alone, with streaming(Supporting Spotify or ITunes), bigger motorized jog wheels, and a nice top display… it’ll be all over. I’ll instantly buy it. Hell, I’ll pre-order it even if it’s 1 year away.

totally agree with that podium line up, looks like they almost stack up the same in price too, with the xz being the most expensive($5k nzd in nz) followed by the ambitious prime 4 at 3.5k nzd. glad you took the flex6 off the table, would have been mortified if you had taken the 800 and left that on there

The controller is the perfect for mastering if you aspiring to be club dj. If knew about the ddj 1000 2 years ago I would have gone straight for it but the 400 is like 200 pounds now soo it won’t hurt the budget. Get the 400 and then upgrade to 1000 (this is what i did) or xdj xz if you are confident
Wow! Once again no love for the DDJ800. Well to each its own. I use the DDJ 800 and I enjoy it. Pro connections, travel-ready, and the display Jog wheel. The kicker, full license Rekordbox inside the controller in addition, and fully license RB key. No extra cost.
From all these choices I'd go for the xz as number 1, the prime 4 as number 2 ( although i own a prime 4, the downside of it that it's a denon and not a pioneer) and the ddj 1000 for 3rd place
Not sure if you've decided yet, but I had the same dilemma. I ended up going with the S4 Mk3, because it has rotating tension jog wheels, an excellent remixing effects deck, sampler, high audio quality, larger range of sound effects (filter, chop, flanger, etc). The obvious difference though was the four-channels of the S4 vs 2-channels on the 800. Really it became a no brainer when considering the price too. As a House, Old School Rave and Techno head I can go places with S4 I can only dream of with the 800. I do love the full size platters and jog displays on the 800 though, and the 800 is a nicer looking machine.

It's too expensive compared to the 1000. It has too much plastic. You can't use any effect standalone. There is no standalone Talkover either. For the money the other 5 shown controllers and AiOs are simply better. So no reason to be mad :)
@@ImpactSpace totally agree, if you gonna spend that much moolah, might aswel pay the extra few hundy and get the best of that series rather than settle for second place. i.e. if my wife found out I spent $1600nzd on a peice of DJ kit she'd be fuming... however if she found out I spent $2400 on a peice of kit, she'd still be fuming just as much.... see where I'm going with this? your already up there in the pro mid range, and granted the 800 has it's place in the market as does all entry level controllers(except the flex6), but when your that committed, and you want to future proof your controller for the next 5yrs might aswel go for broke get the top dog.
@@ImpactSpace the reason I went the 800 route wasn't too do with the price it was more about the size, featured and fitting it onto a portable table with a laptop stand. The 1000's is a tad too big. For 2 channels controller it's feature rich! plus its the same layout as the 1000. Not everyone wants 4 channels and not everyone has space. I know which one I'd prefer to carry around

I don't get it either. Technically the XZ is certainly inferior (ancient screen, small RAM, no Sata/SD/Wifi, just 8-beatjump, etc...) while costing $600 more and being more bulky to carry around. The only better thing are the effects and jogs, though them being mechanical, they also make noise and can break easier... if you aren't a scratch DJ, the Prime 4 jogs are fine. Still a great video and overall I agree with the list!
yep if I had money to burn I know what controller I'd be igniting my cash on, have used both and can tell you the Denon is way more user friendly, feature packed and not to mention alot cheaper

I agree that the SX3 is fine. SR2 is a joke though (too expensive, poor audio quality, EQs and filters dont work standalone) and the Mixars Primo much better in comparison. And RXZ, hmmm, way too exotic and bulky.
ddj 800 is way better than the flx6.. Took the flx6 out to the desert one time and all the faders and knobs are all crunchy now.. ddj 800 took to the desert dozens of times and everything feels super smooth still! No xlr on flx6, the jogs on flx6 feel like plastic crap, the gimicks on the flx6 are not worth the premium price tag. The ddj800 has beat fx, pad fx, color fx, displays on jogs, and feels exactly like what the club standard is and it has 4 channels, you just gotta figure out how to use the extra two, also it has independent power supply unlike flx6.. Flx6 is plasticky junk, feels cheap, and is definitely not worth the price tag
800 is a 2 channel! And a lot more expansive, don’t forget to whom the flx6 was made for! Personally I started in the flx6 and expect all the gimmicks it’s really amazing for its price! Waiting for my ddj1000 tho
it so weird because on paper the prime 4 and the prime 2 have more features-than the ddj rxz and ddj rx3. For example wifi, streaming, on board analysis and stand alone 4 channels. However pioneer take the top position because they know that if you are a professional DJ (which you most likely would be if you were going to spend £1500-£2000 on equipment) don't care about those features all they care about is the feel of the controller and the reliability .For example look at the jog wheels on the rxz compared to the prime 4. Plus pioneer being the club standard helps
So glad I settled on a 1000 just over a year ago.

In a sense yet. You can't connect it directly to the FLX6, you would need to connect it to you computer and use it as a controller alongside the FLX6.

No fucking way. The only way that's true is if you're a bedroom dj. The effects are worse, the jog wheels are worse, the build quality is sub par.

ddj 800 is way better than the flx6.. Took the flx6 out to the desert one time and all the faders and knobs are all crunchy now.. ddj 800 took to the desert dozens of times and everything feels super smooth still! No xlr on flx6, the jogs on flx6 feel like plastic crap, the gimicks on the flx6 are not worth the premium price tag. The ddj800 has beat fx, pad fx, color fx, displays on jogs, and feels exactly like what the club standard is and it has 4 channels, you just gotta figure out how to use the extra two, also it has independent power supply unlike flx6.. Flx6 is plasticky junk, feels cheap, and is definitely not worth the price tag
800 is a 2 channel! And a lot more expansive, don’t forget to whom the flx6 was made for! Personally I started in the flx6 and expect all the gimmicks it’s really amazing for its price! Waiting for my ddj1000 tho

it so weird because on paper the prime 4 and the prime 2 have more features-than the ddj rxz and ddj rx3. For example wifi, streaming, on board analysis and stand alone 4 channels. However pioneer take the top position because they know that if you are a professional DJ (which you most likely would be if you were going to spend £1500-£2000 on equipment) don't care about those features all they care about is the feel of the controller and the reliability .For example look at the jog wheels on the rxz compared to the prime 4. Plus pioneer being the club standard helps
