Just to let you know that not all people can play a 10th, like you do with the Cmaj chord of the turnaround. With your left hand you play C-G-E. I can't do that, unfortunately. Would be great to have examples of chords for "small" hands, that is up to a 9th. Thank you !
Hi, I believe the original song has all Maj 7ths in the turnaround. There are no tritones so no tritones subs. I always thought of this as a modal interchange turnaround. If you use C phrygian instead, all the chords work as Maj 7ths.

Wonderful explanation of this great piece of work. Thanks for sharing
Never thought of this. Creative! Thanks for passing it on
Glad you enjoyed it, Justin!
Thank you for the analysis. When you loop it, it reminds me of Thelonious Monk's Bemsha Swing

Great tutorial. Those enharmonics sure do make it harder to follow than it could be though
Thanks for watching, Elliot!
Ab is also Tritone sub of D. So all areTritone subs of a 1-6-2-5-1 from C
Correct, Bruce! Thanks for the comment!

If you can't reach a tenth, you can play a 7th in your LH! It might not be as "beefy", but still gets the job done. Hope this helps!

Wrong. Listen to the original before commenting nonsense.
isnt it possible to sub with a maj7 chord instead of a dominant?
Nice job. How do you get to the practice material?
