this was one of the best random more races I've taken part of in a while, fun concept, my race was just clean and I'm surprised how decently I did overall :D
I always wanted a game mode that had different types of cars taking different routes. Because it reminded me of Motorstorm, where bikes would take high roads and trucks would blast through the lower terrain rivers and bush.
Just to specify some context - I originally designed the track to balance out between an Omnis and a Massacro which was the fastest cars for each side at the time it was designed. The Elegy was generally quicker but lost out to the Massacro on this track because of the long straights and sweeping corners 😅
so if you take the Massacro on the rally side - does it get a slower time? I presume some cars suit both routes etc... Must have taken a lot of testing. Great track
@@jameznash Correct - its faster for the Massacro to take the road section and faster for the omnis to take the rally section, and at the time no other car in the sports class could take either section quicker. I did most of the initial testing myself but then for finetuning I brought on some of the quickest guys in the game, and the best at finding shortcuts at the time like FelixLinni, SmithyOneTwelve, and others... I then adjusted the prop placements to allow just the right amount of corner cutting to balance out the last few tenths on either side.
I think it was fun that there were both routes available, so ppl could think and speculate which one is the best for their car (and their driving skill).
The one thing about "setting a specific rule" is making sure those line-starting checkpoints are far enough away. Was thinking, since you have the two groups together, if someone gets shoved off the wrong direction because of miscommunication, you wouldn't want to then punish them for being stuck on a route.
if you mean right at the start, there is enough time to recover from going the wrong route: it isn't detrimental to accidentally take the wrong CP at the start
@@DiNmiTe Yeah, not knowing the programming, not sure how the CP specifically work, if it forces what's next. FiveM is a good bit different to Vanilla in so many regards. As long as tagging the first CP-split doesn't force a path, there's less worry of someone getting punished for an on-track accident.
@@Gryphonamx it follows how the original works from GTA Online, each checkpoint has a pair, i.e. If there's 30 checkpoints in route A (on-road), there are 30 checkpoints in route B (offroad) so at the very beginning there is no forcing of a path at all, you can see in the minimap there's two checkpoint markers at all times
This is correct - I also made sure that the pairs wouldnt link up in a way around the track that would allow switching at shared sections because that would've essentially renderef the two original routes useless...
I actually like the idea of someone going rogue and trying to use a street car on the dirt sections, cause its one helluva gamble, and admittedly, I probably would’ve tried with the Hotknife too. But I like the concept, it makes the racers think about what would be best or if they’re down late and need to just take a big risk, like contending for a top 5 spot and someone 5-10 seconds in front of you got the same car as you, could take a stab at the other route to see if you could potentially close the gap that way.
All race I was confused hearing Bruffey talk about a PR4 for the off-road section and I didn't understand or notice it was an off-road PR4 before it finally arrived, and can you blame me? What a beautiful abomination.
Have you guys thought about counting total race time from a car crossing the start/finish line? It would even out the field a bit for the people starting out at the back and I think would be important for harmonic starts especially
as brough mentions multiple times in random races, where you start is part of that, plus that will introduce a whole heap of issues with ordering since people's races would start at different points
@@DiNmiTe Had to re-read this a few times to get it but it finally clicked :D Fair point and I get the concept behind it but in my opinion it feels like for random mores where everyone has the same cars just not in the same order this could make it even more competitive. You would get weird finishing positions though as you've said (same thing happens in FH5 races where total race time determines finishing position)
The 5 off-roads cars are: Regina 6x6 because yes Omnis because yes Cheburek because yes Paragon R Rally because yes And the PR4 Rally because yes The 5 road cars? Whatever, nobody cares Jokes aside, very nice concept. Would be good to see with different cars... and people sticking to their designed sides of course
A way to make sure people use the right car on the right side make it so all the on road cars have high off road traction loss and make the off road track shorter so that if you use the wrong car on the wrong side it's slower than if you used the right side
Idea suggestion for the next one: Drag cars and electric cars. Drag cars route will be longer but be made of long stretches and minimal corners. Electric cars route will be shorter but have many corners. This way if someone used the wrong route for the car, they'll perform poorly. (Just don't include the tezeract and other outliers.)
Did you notice that the only person to get the Omnis on the final lap was Lok? He won which must be some kind of karma (CARma LOL). Even if Broughy wasn't a winner, his favourite car was.
How about you do a random all/pain like this except there is short ice prop track and a lot longer road track so if you have a car with a high off road traction loss can choose to have either a short hell lap or a long safe lap
@@MajorCopyright oh you commented on a PH video so i thought it was a FiveM suggestion, mb :D would need the multi class glitch and im not sure HSW transfers when that glitch is done
I did the race legit, my best lap was slower because the hyperion is the fastest car and i used it on lap 1 and got into a few accidents. I think the hotknife is the only vehicle thats faster on its unintended route and people arent going to be getting their best lap in a hotknife
Yeah in the end I think it was only the hotknife that could be cheesed. The Paragon in front of me at the end for example had a slower lap than I did for taking the road route.

love the longer tracks even if it means less laps, it has a totally different feeling to it
I always wanted a game mode that had different types of cars taking different routes. Because it reminded me of Motorstorm, where bikes would take high roads and trucks would blast through the lower terrain rivers and bush.
God, MotorStorm was so fun. Bikes, quads, buggys, cars, trucks, all sorts of variety. Loved all four games of it.

@@Fachuro Well it was definitely worth all the hard work and refining.
Good race, always enjoy the split sectioned or joker lap races, fun to watch it unfold at the end.
Thank you for the good videos Broughy
You're welcome, thank you for enjoying them! :D
Such a cool concept, very enjoyable to watch, thank you!
That was a good looking fight between you and Dinmite in the Hyperion
could've kept him behind if it weren't for a backmarker :( ah well thats racing!
The concept is magnificient, random select + harmonic multilinearity

Julian probably has Broughy's $3.14 donation sound playing in their head right about now.
The PR4 looked way faster to me, gliding!
Your driving was definitely of a higher quality in this race (minus the checkpoint miss!) definitely keep it up!

Brough always took the right checkpoint in the double checkpoint. it's the next checkpoint that locks in the route
That Hyperion lap was a cracker!
This is theBest gameMod of RandomAll, keep doing these👌🏾
What an awesome race. Thanks for the video!
Also I did think that the off-road track might be a little more difficult in the dark & soon after Broughy confirmed this.
Kudos to the track maker!

This is like a special random race because of the length of it
Lok won the race, in other news, sky is blue
Great race idea!!, hope to see more like this

That Hyperion is crazy!!
Lovely content as always!
I do wonder what the odds would've been of getting all rally then all road, or something like that.
Another "Jewel" circuit vid. Nice.
The 5 off-roads cars are:
Regina 6x6 because yes
Omnis because yes
Cheburek because yes
Paragon R Rally because yes
And the PR4 Rally because yes

He finished behind a guy that used the paragon on the road section and the guy that went with the hotknife off road, lol
A way to make sure people use the right car on the right side make it so all the on road cars have high off road traction loss and make the off road track shorter so that if you use the wrong car on the wrong side it's slower than if you used the right side
I think it would be cool in this sort of race to have 1-2 cars that are equally fast on both splits so there's some driver choice
I'm guessing '250 Ping' chose that name to warn you well in advance about "Oh, bloody hell, that's some lag!"
The offroad oap seemed faster to me, that hotknife lap lasted for ages
this track is amazing!
Idea suggestion for the next one:
Drag cars and electric cars.
Drag cars route will be longer but be made of long stretches and minimal corners.
Electric cars route will be shorter but have many corners.
This way if someone used the wrong route for the car, they'll perform poorly. (Just don't include the tezeract and other outliers.)
Much Awesome!
Sees a guy named 250 ping: "Bloody hell that's some lag"
20:21 username checks out.
No surprise lok wins yet again, gonna need handicaps to even it out one day xd
Did you notice that the only person to get the Omnis on the final lap was Lok? He won which must be some kind of karma (CARma LOL). Even if Broughy wasn't a winner, his favourite car was.
I don't understand how 250 ping is still allowed to join, every game he either takes people out or gets taken out because of his shit connection
the typical aussie lag is within acceptable levels for us to allow them to continue racing
Sorry to ask or say, but could we see lmp vs f1 cars as a head to head vs race
That was interesting.
GG’s 🎉
The probability of getting all of the road cars after two off-road cars is approximately 1.785%
Think probability of getting 5 consecutive road cars is 2.4%. For getting either type it's 4.4%. My Maths degree was years ago though.
@@hammyhamster8349 I did my math wrong, but you ain't right either.
(5/8)*(4/7)*(3/6)*(2/5)*(1/4)≈0.1785 is what it should be, right?
@@Tommuli_Haudankaivaja shouldn't (5/8)x(4/7) etc result in 1/56 or 1.8% rounded up? Or am I **completely** off here?
@@declan2775 I have somehow gotten 7% and 1.785% with the same equation.
My hand held calculator got 7.1785% and Excel gets 1.785%. Now that I wrote it down, I think my calculator isn't showing 0 correctly.
14:36 when the adder shifts up and just sounds like a monster 😮💨
Facts. Imagine this with HSW too oh my gawd
How about you do a random all/pain like this except there is short ice prop track and a lot longer road track so if you have a car with a high off road traction loss can choose to have either a short hell lap or a long safe lap
Just random idea. Multiclass race with HSW cars. (maybe GT1: Turismo Classic, GT2: Vigero ZX, GT3: Astron Custom?)
PC technically doesn't have HSW mods nor the Astron Custom
@@DiNmiTe I mean we would have to do it on console. We can make hsw races.
@@MajorCopyright oh you commented on a PH video so i thought it was a FiveM suggestion, mb :D
would need the multi class glitch and im not sure HSW transfers when that glitch is done
@@DiNmiTe hsw races let you race all hsw cars against each other no matter the class. Everyone will need their own car
Woo
Ok now do that but with 167 people please!!!

I think top 6 if you hadn't have made that checkpoint mistake
Cheburek rally should have called Cheburek VFTS
not lore friendly
As I said the last time you said this, just call it a Lada at that point
That was a pretty lonely race tbh
Assuming Lok did the race legit, you can tell who used the wrong cars on the wrong laps based on their best lap time.
