  • Steve Wohlberg presents a powerful message entitled, “The Smoke of Their Torment”, based on Revelation 14:11. Line upon line and precept upon precept is how we are to study God’s word, and Steve does just that as he provides clarity on the third angel’s message. Celestine sings, “You Alone”, and she is accompanied by Farrah Barry, on piano.

    Revelation 6:10 New King James Version (NKJV)
    And they cried with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?”
    King James Version (KJV)
    Revelation 8:4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.
    King James Version
    So when it says the smoke of devil and his angels ascended forever, this is the answer to the saints prayer, for God to avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth.

    On Revelation 14:11 and wherefore John is borrowing from the OT scriptures in the symbolism.
    The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture [mercy] into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
    [For context]
    And *the smoke* of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and *they have no rest day nor night* who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
    {Revelation 14:10-11}
    For it is the day of the LORD'S vengeance, and the year of recompences for the controversy of Zion.
    And the streams thereof shall be turned into pitch, and the dust thereof into brimstone, and the land thereof shall become burning pitch.
    It shall not be quenched NIGHT nor DAY; *the smoke* thereof shall go up for ever: from generation to generation it shall lie waste; none shall pass through it for ever and ever.
    *But* the cormorant and the bittern shall possess it; the owl also and the raven shall dwell in it: and he shall stretch out upon it the line of confusion, and the stones of emptiness.
    They shall call the nobles thereof to the kingdom, *but none shall be there* and *all her princes shall be nothing*
    {Isaiah 34:8-12}
