Ooh! It's gorgeous!! The doggies look so glam! 15:41 It's so silly, but even though they're one of the biggest bands in the world, I get so excited when I randomly see Rolling Stones things, cos I grew up and still live where Mick Jagger and Keith Richards grew up.
Awesomeness! This’s one of my favorite pages in forever! IDK if your done with the doodling completely yet in Teeshia Moore’s style, waiting to see. TY!
I am a mixed media artist, and collage is my favourite. My problem is I am spoiled for choice with magazine collage images. I have TONS. I will get inspired and spend waaaay too much time auditioning pieces. If I could either give myself a time limit, or a specific number of pieces, I think I would get more done. For every layout I do, I have probably spent two hours picking thru everything I have! 😁
Oh, do I ever understand! Part of making a huge stash work is to sort it. I used a color system for years where any image that is mostly a single color or shades of a single color went into its own category (ROYGBIV). Actual images that are nouns like a person, landmark, gem, or flowers went into my slush pile _unless_ it was one of my favorite subject matter like clouds, natural rock/stone surfaces, or velvet/silk which each got their own categories. That worked for years so I always suggest it. Today I have far fewer categories, and a small solid or slightly textured set (browns, greens, blues, hot colors (red/orange/yellow). I also have precut rubber stamp images, die cuts, and purchased ephemera like vintage postage stamps and stickers. When I harvest/process a new magazine I know what images and backgrounds I actually use and/or I have on my wish list. Please avoid the compost storage system, been there, done that!!
I am new ti this kind of art, I love your style and humor, my stuff is not very good. I am partially blind so cutting things out is not very good, thank you! Your videos are uplifting,
Oh girl, I hear you with the problems of cutting! I would say get really good strong (like way more than even you always have to have) magnifying glasses and for sure get some super sharp small scissors! I like snips... they are super sharp and make cutting easier! artsyfartsylife.com/snips
Practicing is perfectly o.k. I hated my freehand circles because they weren't even close to circles. I took some papers out of the recycle bin, found my sharpest scissors, and sat in front of the t.v. I literally cut 10 freehand circles trying really hard to not think/judge. Then I tried folding a square paper into quarters and cut 10 of those. Then I went back to freeform and focused on cutting wonky circles on purpose -- you know trying to make them screwy, bumpy, lumpy -- and made myself laugh. By this point I had 30 circle-ish shapes, some of these I could save for my stash with a tiny bit of trimming (or a nail file if you have heavier paper). I put everything in a ziplock and watched a whole 1-hour t.v. program. After that, I did 10 more freehand circles. If you ask anyone who wants to improve they will tell you you do need to practice. This is true for a musical instrument, baking bread, running, putting together classy outfits, training your dog, driving a car, etc. Practice is not a dirty word and it does have a place in art. As for circles... you can practice, get a hole punch, use your die-cutting machine, buy precut circles, or use a rubber stamp. Because I have arthritis I sometimes ask my sister to cut things out for me.

Where’d you find the doggies?
They were ads in magazines!
