i had to withhold my rage the other day when a friend said "Clay fell off on this album, he's just playing along with the kick drum" and i dont think i've ever heard a more incorrect opinion ever.
All of these guys are beasts. Each of them are considered one of the best musicians in their respective instruments. Theyre Tim Henson (tatted guitarist), Scott LePage (other guitarist), Clay Gober (Bass) and Clay Aeschliman (Drums). Clay A is my favorite because he can literally play something different with each limb, he's nuts. If you're interested in seeing more then I suggest Ego Death, Chimera, Yas, 40oz and Look but don't touch (just remember the vid is an April Fools joke lol). Also, GOAT is basically required listening at this point.
Welcome to the polyphia rabbit hole. They have 10 years of absolutely amazing progressive music ranging from classical and jazz influences like this track to prog metal, to hip hop to math rock, and all of it is amazing.
Ahhh the great and legendary Tim Henson. He's one of the greatest guitarists of his generation. And his tatts are wicked cool. This song is such a vibe. The band's name is pronounced "Pol - if - ee- a.
I clicked this video SO FAST! Polyphia is a phenomenal band and all the members are genius musicians! I got VIP to see them in March and the same again this October and I’m so excited! Definitely check out some of their older tunes like 40 oz, O.D., Look But Don’t Touch, Goose, the list goes on!! And everything from their newest album is a banger 🔥
Let's go!! So glad you got around to reacting to this and glad you liked it :) G.O.A.T. is another good song from them if you liked them enough to react to another vid.
I’ve been listening to and loving Polyphia for 7-8 years. The name is probably derived from polyphony (the use of multiple notes or melodies woven together to create harmonies and counterpoint), which is something they excel at doing, besides just being god tier musicians. 😊 Enjoy the ride.
Thanks for introducing me to a new group! I have subscribed and look forward to listening to more of them. Since you obviously enjoyed them you might want to check out Marcin, a young Polish acoustic guitarist who does a mind blowing cover of Led Zepplin's "Kashmir".
Their name has the stress on the second syllable. They have made some collabs with some singers, like ABC, featuring Sophia Black. They also made Ego Death featuring the great Steve Vai!
DUDE !!! Ego Death may change the way you listen to music ... I know that Polyphia, in general, has had this effect on me for the 7 years I've been watching these kids now ... throw in the GODFATHER himself Steve Vai and you've got a perfect storm to disrupt guitar and the way it's even played in the future. @@nickforell1
A fantastic post-rock band from my home state of Ohio, is: If these trees could talk. You should check them out, even if it's not for the channel. I used to listen to them and Animals as Leaders (which are prog-metal) when I would study for X-ray School, since they're both instrumental bands. No lyrics to distract you. lol.
They’re such an incredible band. I only started listening to them recently but have become obsessed! Between Ren, The Big Push, Sleep Token and Polyphia I am set for life 😂 Happy New Year Nick!! 🖤
if i’m not mistaken Tim (lead guitar/short hair) is playing the prototype of one of his signature guitars in this video. it’s based on an old discontinued model he found in a charity shop on tour, and the company started making it again for him.
Not just the guitar(s), every member of this band is outstanding, masters at their craft. Pol IF EE AA. First time I saw band members turn to face each other was at Woodstock, the original. Carlos Santana later explained they had gone from a bar band to playing in front of hundreds of thousands and it was a daunting event. So they turned to face each other, as they would at home or when jamming in the studio, and played for each other. That's how they remained so cool at such a momentus event. But yeah, the drummer and bass player and other guitarist, each are brilliant. This is such a refreshing sound...
YAAAAAAAAAAAAY !!!! You thought TOOL was a MindF**K ??? WOO HOO !!! Let the games Begin !!! Rabbit hole after Rabbit hole Nick Forell seems to be falling in ... Not even ALICE in that mystical wonderland explored this many honeytraps !!!! LMFAO
It’s not so much about the performance of this… It’s more about how these minds created and composed this. A lot of people can recreate the actual music. But the mindset that created it is what is so illusive and awesomely captivating for me.
You need to do their other big song that features Steve Vai , called Ego Death. Also definitely recommend taking a listen, maybe doing a reaction to a song called _Still Feel_ by the band Half Alive. Huge song but was their only hit but I think it's amazing and probably something that you'd like a lot.
I couldn't tell you how many guitarists react to Polyphia for the first time, look at their own guitar, and declare they might just as well give it up. LOL (In jest, of course.)
Loved your reaction to the video but had to exit to go watch the original….. why you fade it out so i could only see you and the room behind you with the ghost of the epicness of this video.
Copyrights... fair use... Community Guidelines strikes... monetization... How clueless must you be as to how RUclips works... I'm willing to put a number on it.
Polyphia is driven by the bass. Glay Gober is not as focused on by reactors, but one of the best bass players in the world.
This is a fact.
Their songs deff need bass and drums.
Clay and clay are probably the tightest rhythm section in rock music
That's a fact! It's so much more apparent when you see them live, too.
i had to withhold my rage the other day when a friend said "Clay fell off on this album, he's just playing along with the kick drum" and i dont think i've ever heard a more incorrect opinion ever.
Drummer is a machine too
Yeah, he’s very talented
love watching people's brain melt on first listen.

They are! I’m so impressed
That was beautiful! I'm glad you reacted to this.
Glad you enjoyed!
you should react to the unplugged version, you will perfectly see the finger work, it's amazing
Looking good nick! These guys are incredible. I hope you like them so that there's more.
with people like Scottie LePage and Mr Hanson at the helm, I feel like music is safe in their hands.
Let's go!! So glad you got around to reacting to this and glad you liked it :) G.O.A.T. is another good song from them if you liked them enough to react to another vid.

They do seem god tier

i agree he is absolutely genius and in my opinion the goat of guitar and composition
Awesome, thank you Camile!

Oh wow Steve Vai!

I want that guitar
@@nickforell1me too man. Once I’ve got a spare $700 laying around I’m definitely getting it.
i feel like every polyphia song is an everyone solo that just works so great togather❤❤

GOAT is another great one. Contrary to popular belief, it is an acronym for the effects they use for the song (gain, overdrive, etc.)
puh · li · fee · uh... And yeah, they are truly INCREDIBLE!
Brilliant guitar work
What amazing talent. Thanks for the reaction!
Thank you too!
The fact you said to go sub to Polyphia AND watch their videos is so pog of you!! A class act my guy!!
Thank you 😊

Appreciated the El Ten Eleven shoutout.
Appreciate you knowing who they are
Man, these guys are genius! But I wish they would give Clay Gober more attention because he is a beast! Love them all, though.

You can watch the drum and guitar-specific videos and see the play in greater detail.
I think you need to checkout tim Henson’s (the lead guitarist) solo playthrough if this song
If you plan on diving down their discography, keep in mind that their sound greatly changes between each album. They stay evolving.
I couldn't tell you how many guitarists react to Polyphia for the first time, look at their own guitar, and declare they might just as well give it up. LOL (In jest, of course.)
Yes I bet it’s common!
❤🔥
❤
❤ Polyphia
:)
Poe lif fee uh, check out goat by them next. And od
Listen again, but focus on the drums and bass. They are amazing, so talented.
Couldn't agree more!
Don't watch much hardcore do ya?
Emphasis on the second syllable ... poLYPHia
Thank you!

Sorry about that but copyright blocked me from uploading otherwise
Dude...play the vid without fading it. Your head takes up half the screen...we will see you. Not me though...I'm out.

This is just simply Progressive Flamenco and Bossa Nova with a splash of Polyphia
Polyphia is music porn. This is musicianship at it's FINEST!
❤
