You know me more than you realize.its like you know who I am and your nowhere near me but some how you reach out and touch my heart miles away from each other. I really believe God has introduced me to you for a reason, for reasons I can't explain but I know it's him cause this is what I prayed for and still pray for yet here you are. I get these chills like how does matt know me but yet does not know who I am.God is great.

I am over 400 miles from the church now. I listened to a random sermon from a month or so ago. He always seems to talk about something I am directly dealing with and oddly usually something I have been talking about with my close family or friends. Matt truly has a gift. I do not consider myself a Christian but I have learned so much more about Christianity from Matt. He makes me eager to learn more and to read more of the bible. What you said is exactly how I feel and it seems he connects with people almost universally. I honestly don't know how to explain it.

Very very common. Especially in America " the bible belt specifically" being overweight is a far bigger issue than alcohol is. Yet, won't here this in the average church much because you'd offend over half of the congregation. The church I grew up in, all my growing up, it was don't drink, fornication, steal, dip or cuss or chew, don't lie and don't do drugs, never, amd I mean never, was over eating touched on. And in my opinion is far more harmful than alchohol.

Gluttony has destroyed lives too, he just trying to shade more light on gluttony the silent killer because people only make public awareness on alcohol. There are AA meetings for alcoholics but none for Gluttons

Gluttony is just as bad as alcoholism

I'm a little late to the thread, but gluttony is an over indulgence and over consumption of food or drink. So alcoholism falls into this category.

You are wrong in you statement that almost every time alcohol is mentioned gluttony is. Gluttony is only mentioned 4 times and two are parallel accounts of a simple accusation. The other two pertaining more to alcohol and partying than food. Your Philippians 3 references has nothing to do with overeating but complacency as the context implies. We are warned about Alcohol dozens of times.

@@TmoneyisTooLegit who’s defending being fat? Do you love those who defend alcohol abuse as if it’s the same as having one too many slices of pizza on a Friday night. I just provided simple biblical fact. The Bible IS the authority right? Please provide chapter and verse if you’d like to make a point.

That includes eating, our "belly" holds food & drink. Why else would God choose to use the word "belly"?????
