Please please don’t stop with these lessons I have adopted two girls from Sao Felix do Xingu in Brazil and I have been studying Portuguese for a while now. but with your few lesson my communication with my daughters have increased 10 fold. me and my oldest are start to have real open conversations THANK YOU!!
I saw that you posted and I was like “YES” that’s my professor!! Haha I’m watching these daily as well as doing your 100 verb challenge! My goal is to have all 100 verbs in 3 months and so far for this first month I have 40 with 30 verbs and their frases. I hope to have all 100 verbs with their corresponding phrases! 😁🥳
Yesterday I got my first compliment for my portuguese pronunciation, from my brazilian teacher! I definitely have to thank you for the progress 🙏 Greetings from Chile!
Andrew, just want to say you are really great at this. You are a skilled teacher and your clear pronunciations are really valuable for learners. As someone who uses youtube a lot I hope you don't mind if I give a couple of suggestions! I couldn't find an email address for you so I'm just going to do it here. 1) These structured videos are excellent (again, you are a gifted teacher), but you are competing with a lot of other resources with these. Your most differentiated content is your breakdowns of real spoke BR Portuguese ("kikse" was a lifesaver for me 😄), and your videos that teach through pop culture and interviews. I really think you would stand out more from other youtubers if you did a lot more of these, and get tons of views. 2) I think you should change the name of your channel so it's easier to find through searches. It doesn't say Portuguese anywhere in the title, and maybe that's why it took me so long to find it. (I didn't come across your channel during over a year of studying Portuguese and consuming a LOT of youtube content in that time.) Thank you for your great videos!
Once again, I absolutely love your lessons Andrew. Thanks so much. Eu to (can’t do the accent on my phone) falando com uma amiga brasileira! I’ve made it thorough the first 9. I found 8 to be the trickiest, so I plan on revisiting that one. In the meantime, while waiting for lesson 10 + the course to be created, do you recommend any particular order to go through the rest of your content to continue learning in sequence? I plan on going through the verbs in detail!
Glad you're enjoying them Rob! Since you have a background in Spanish, the main things to get a handle on in the beginning are 1) the pronunciation and 2) verb conjugations, specifically the present, preterite, and imperfect tenses. The irregular verbs (which I call "The Dirty Dozen" in the verb conjugation tutorials) are some of the most frequently used so you want to know those cold. I would then go through my Learn Portuguese with Brazilian Celebrities & Culture playlist study how the verbs are used in the real world.
