What a story. Wrecked racing cars were rebodied many times. The beautiful blue Micchelotti was gorgeous. It would have been best to stay as such, but cars change owners and many chapters. Great Video.

I picked up a Match Box car of this car. As soon as I saw it somehow I knew it to be a great car. Back when a Jag was a Jag.

I had a slot car one of these but never knew what it was till now. It's the reason I clicked on this.

Thank You, You nailed it again.
    This/these cars, are absolutely beauties!
The D-type, Le Mans and the following E-type are, in My opinion, the most beautiful cars ever.

That was very well done, I've read a lot of books, seen plenty of video of Jaguar racing history but never knew anything about XKD 513 and its history, that was an education.

XKD 513 would be worth more with the one off Micholetti body.

The D-type hardly "dominated" sports car racing, but it DID dominate Le Mans, winning a hat-trick 3 races on the trot (1955/6/7). Other than that, it had one win at the Rheims 12-hour and one at Sebring. But Le Mans was the target of the design, and it was very effective there; Le Mans is long, fast and flat...the D was perfectly suited to those conditions.

"It is weird, how both these drivers were involved with this fish!" haha awesome! Must be a further story there for sure!

I am already subscribed, and I have learned something new. On top of that, I love LeMans history. Anything you can bring to your channel with historic LeMans cars will have my attention. Keep up the good work.🏁

What an absolutely gorgeous thing. I think they did the wrong thing taking it back to original configuration.

    I like your videos.
It is too bad they used the English tail lights on the beautiful Italian body.
Please learn how to says Le Mans. There is no 'N' or 'S" sound and it is a bit nasal. I heard the place pronounced three different ways in this video.
