Patricia Noud Strange, yes, but interesting, too. It was kind of refreshing to hear unusual questions instead of the same old crap. I loved listening to Roger express his opinions on some of these subjects. This was recorded almost thirty years ago. The future wasn’t what they thought it would be. I disagree about the clothes of the ‘70’s though. I LOVED how Roger dressed back in the ‘70’s.
The Cross were an absolutely superb rock band and Blue Rock in particular is an outstanding album with excellent production and really really impressive vocals from Roger. With a better publicity and promotional machine behind them and possibly a dedicated manager I think they would have built into quite a significant draw in the European countries they got their foot into with minor chart hits such as Germany, Holland etc. Its astonishing that the record label didn't want to invest in Blue Rock and get it released in the USA let alone the UK. There was no excuse not to release it in the UK other than a terrible lack of taste on the part of the record label bods who seemingly didn't see its brilliance. Of course its possible, probable in fact that Roger splitting his time between Queen and The Cross left the label with less faith that he'd invest enough himself to push it in new territories. Anyway 3 super albums that will stand the test of time and grateful for that.
I think it's the first time i saw Spike Edney talking. 😄 I like the "fun and serious" thing. It seems for us like "not a strange" thing for some people in some places, because I think we are kind of similar, somehow. Well, I guess we are not so far geographically 😂
Se muy guapo Roger me gustaría verlo visto más en las entrevistas sin lentes oscuros pero se que tenía un problema en los ojos y no lo gusta usar lentes normales..
Everyone is talking about Roger but why the hell is no one talking about the fact that Spike is sitting and awkwardly waiting for the interview to end??
Interesting that Roger wasn't more forthcoming about Queen in the 70's and 80's - when Queen established and maintained a wonderful musical and entertainment foundation that would be world-wide. But then this was 91 so obviously he didn't accept their fabulosity. Even says "The 70's were a bad decade" . . . what??? Then to laugh off Queen. Hmmmmm
Well Roger did have a lot of difficulties at the beginning of The Cross to prove them right, everyone was constantly referring him to Queen and his career with them so I'm not surprised he wants to keep interview questions about The Cross and not about Queen. Simply to brush it off. And ofc he isn't really laughing at Queen, just joking around.
@@unicornqueen9049 Of course . . . in fact today I found myself terribly concerned about what I said. Why did I take it so seriously? I think I 'hurt' that Queen seemed 'blown off. Plus I was newly in love with Queen and may have felt Spike was out of his league and Roger was too happy to embrace him. I was jealous, perhaps that Queen was thrown away in this interview. Even now, tears as I recall that time only a year after I began learning about magnificent Freddie, Roger, John and Brian. PS I have every single Roger Taylor CD I can put my hand on. Loved his concerts last fall.
Ma chi ha fatto questa intervista?? Peggior intervista mai vista. Ovviamente anche il loro 'interesse' nel rispondere era al livello, ma come avrebbero potuto prendere seriamente in considerazione una situazione del genere ?!? 'Babbo o o' 😖😂
I like Spike very much.I find him much better than Brian. You can see he''s a real artist in his lecture of poetry. Roger seems to have no idea about it
1:11 This is my favorite part of the video I love Roger's laugh it makes me smile even when I'm having a bad day his laugh makes me laugh
What kind of weird questions are these? I lost it when Roger said Stevie Wonder is a terrible driver!! LOL
That's got to be the strangest interview I've ever seen.....both Spike and Roger were very good sports!

@@anij8226 same! i love roger's 70's fashion too.
I honestly laugh like roger and it’s so funny 😂
Kudos to Roger and Spike for remaining composed during this very odd interview.

Yes, my thought, too.

1:31 ahahaha Roger your laugh looks like a coffee machine here 😂

*NOT THE COFFEE MACHINE!*
you know you're deep in the internet when ur watching an interview of roger that makes absolutely no sense at all
Se muy guapo Roger me gustaría verlo visto más en las entrevistas sin lentes oscuros pero se que tenía un problema en los ojos y no lo gusta usar lentes normales..
I didn't realize there was controversy about Columbus even in 1991. Goes to show nothing is ever truly new.
Now his so-called legacy isn't being honored anymorem
18:00 :)
Strange questions - Rogers face at 3.31.
Everyone is talking about Roger but why the hell is no one talking about the fact that Spike is sitting and awkwardly waiting for the interview to end??
I didn't even know how to SPELL "espadrille" first time I watched this. (I thought it was "aspedril") It's like a sort of shoe as I recall.
Almost 10 minutes in and still waiting to hear them ask about the album…
14:54 Roger became a cat there 😂🤣
Very 90s 😎
0:45 1:01 What was that? 😂🤣

“Asf”-what?

Roger: Stevie Wonder's a terrible driver.
Me: Hahahaha so am I. Stevie Wonder also has bad mobility skills!!! Sorry, just had to add that in there.
I like Spike very much.I find him much better than Brian. You can see he''s a real artist in his lecture of poetry. Roger seems to have no idea about it
They're both brilliant. Spike sometimes gets lesser love just because he plays the keyboards. He's good with guitars too. But not better than Brian
