They could be in the middle of layoffs and contracting outside organizations to fill internal roles and they’d still say this.

Unfortunately you're not dealing with the political nature of almost every major and many minor companies when it comes to leadership. The obvious choices of people who are beloved and who are extremely competent never get picked, it's always an outside random person or someone who's been there 20 years that no one likes who doesn't know how to lead 😂

I have the opportunity to become a lead at my job. It’ll be a 3 dollar bump if I take it but then I’m responsible for showing up all the time and now I’ll have to find someone to cover my shift if I want a day off. Plus it takes a while to be a good leader. I want to learn the entire production process not just three departments before I become a lead. The newest leads at my job were operators when I started and I respect all of them except for one because he wasn’t an operator for long so he forgets how exhausting being an operator is. I’ll go on break and if I take longer then Ten minutes which is going to happen because they force me to take off my work boots then he gets pissed. I know he’ll get pissed so I come back in high so that I don’t get pissed and just ignore him and continue trying to get ahead of schedule. So if your a lead and you have a crew that knows how to do the job. Leave your operators alone because you bothering them makes everything worse. I want to tell my lead. Look if I come across an issue that I don’t have access to then I’ll call you if I don’t call you then just leave me alone. I swear he is the reason why I applied for my cities utility department and I passed the tests. I’m just waiting until it’s my turn to join the city because I’m on a list. Once it’s my turn I’m putting in my two weeks notice and I’ll tell my lead good luck running the machine’s because you being a bi polar weirdo is why I applied for bigger better things.
