I completely missed the duration of the video...damn, it was endless! And when I finally checked how long it lasted, I decided to watch it til the end, to see how the story would have ended 😅 But considering how much plastic we throw in the ocean, honestly I don't know if it's better at all...😎

To be fair, I find most music videos (of any band) take away from the music, which is why I rarely watch the videos and if I do I make sure to watch them once I've already listened to the song without the distractions of a video.

You gotta look at the video like a separate concept that is adjacent to the music with this one. There are parallels and an overarching common soul searching involved. The same effect on human psyche could have also involved a completely different random scenario instead in the desert. Such is art! Let's play the song and not watch the video, then! Cheers
I feel that nowadays we are so used to super polished, high budget music videos that we tend to forget that it was not much of a case back in the past. I personally feel like Rene u Valdes (the director of the Verkligheten and Whisp of the Atlantic/Feverish trinity videos) intentionally wants to remind us of that by shooting videos in the vintage/old school style.
Starting to love these surreal videos they do. You have to watch it full-length because there might be some hidden visual gem worth seeing in the middle. Though, haven't spotted anything in this one. Waiting for next challenge!
I have been a fan of Soilwork for over 15 years. They are one of my favorite bands of all time. I've even gotten the opportunity to work with their former drummer Dirk which was an amazing joy. They have been a huge influence on my writing and musical endeavors. With that said, their music videos are their weakest points, and that's putting it nicely. I feel like their music is timeless but I can only stand a couple minutes of their videos before tuning out. The videos need to complement the music, other-wise it just takes away from the overall greatness of the song. You can have both intense and visually captivating imagery without falling into the traditional tropes of a heavy metal band...
