Out of all the discussion around this game, I have yet to see anyone just going through the game and talking about what it is. Everyone is too busy going at each other. So this is a lovely find
at long last a sensible review from someone who has actually played it! Not sure if sounds like a £60 title but when on sale is a possible as combat looks interesting
I'm relieved about a fair amount of question marks I had around this game. I do however agree with the sentiment I've seen elsewhere which is the dialogue is at the tutorial level standard and doesn't go much beyond that, which is a shame considering how strong its been in the rest of the series.
How can you go from this to origins without being incredibly angry and let down? I’m shocked that you don’t have the standards we were used to with the original game there is multiple items thats lazy not handy bro.
Because no game is made in a vacuum, and it's about expectation. Inquisition already showed signs of heading in this direction, throw mass layoffs in and a very troubled development on top of that. So I take this information and adjust expectations accordingly, the fact we even got a game thats as competent as this one, is a surprise in itself (granted I haven't beaten it yet so my opinion could change by then). I'd argue the only major failing of this game is the dialogue, everything else I've experienced has ranged from fine to quite good, the environment design being a standout imo. This unfortunetly isn't the same Bioware that made Origins so I don't think it's realistic to expect that again. Would I have loved a return to the Origins style, of course but it's just wasn't on the cards.

Yea I can see this being a 'wait for sale' for a bunch of people, especially if they haven't played the DA series before
