It's between him and AJ McCarron. I'd argue Bates deserves it, since like Brandon Aubrey before him, he'll be one of the highest paid kickers in the NFL next year.

What a game! Best UFL game so far in my book. Just back and forth the whole time, so many great plays and another amazing performance from Jake Bates. Went 5 for 5 but if you include the ones wiped away by penalty he went 7 for 7, including one from 60 and the game winner.
He did miss one at the end but Arlington had 12 men on the field
I was at the field. He spent the whole time during halftime practicing 50 yd goals and he nailed every single one!

@@sectorz1019 The teams are gone for now. This merger means spring football has a chance to actually be something. Dividing the players who don't make the NFL between 2 spring leagues would have probably resulted in both dying, you'd have XFL fans and USFL fans, now you have a large amount of both those fanbases combined and no competition. They need to focus on growth and longevity, people will start watching in half a decade if it's still around. Stadiums will start to fill up.

Cheating like that helped to turn soccer into a pathetic mess, personally I'd hate to see that happen to this sport too. Even if the kicker doesn't draw a penalty for such obvious cheating, which he should, you can't pin it on the guy trying to block the kick either.

Michigan kinda like the Steelers where they play up and down to their competition and know how to get the win.
Also Etling has pretty bad pocket awareness, and I don't think Perez would have struggled like that but who really knows why these coaches keep playing different QBs seemingly at random.
They should just keep one quarterback the whole game that other guy ia not as good compare to perez

After roughly half the season in the books, we can safely assume that the leagues (last year) were likely on par with each other seeing how most of these games have been quite competitive.
We need some good running backs in the league I mean the ones we have now are great but none of them are like Abrum Smith he was making house calls

Luis Perez is one of the best QBs in the league just absolutely TRAPPED on the worst team. He does so much and gets nothing back in return. Some NFL team should really look at bringing him in to camp and at least get him as a practice squad QB minimum during the season.

@NineballChris I think he'd rather be both. Chances are if he made it to a practice squad he'd compete for his job/maybe lose it at the end of season. We've seen guys last year go to the NFL/Practice squads for the previous season who are now back in spring ball so it wouldn't be impossible.

I can't believe the Renegades didn't boot the final kickoff into the end zone to prevent a run back. They found a good rhythm and played well for three quarters, but they need better coaching.
That will be a 80 yard kick. They are kicking off at the 20. They do not have the leg to kick it in the endzone. Bates kicks it and lands around the 9 yard line.
@@NineballChris It doesn't have to land in the end zone, only roll and bounce into it. Either that or kick it high enough to give them time to reach the returner.
