I also have a 70's fender crafted in japan jazz, great bass, feels sweet, however mine didn't come with the CTS pots, so i changed that fast with a orange drop cap, i also noticed the pickups on my 70's japan are a bit different, they're actually smaller then my original 1975 jazz bass, the pickup routing for each pickup were made just a touch smaller, so i'm going to have the holes routed the same size as my real 75 and add som 70's lindy fralins in..I wonder why the pickups were made smaller?

Nice looking bass Tyler. Gutted that it only comes with the 60's p'up spacing, 70's reissue with 60 p'up spacing? It seems like every Jbass Fender or Squier manufacture these days have that spacing as standard. They look vintage but don't sound it, what's the point? It's a 60's bass with a 70's make over...
I have an AXL player deluxe which has that 4 inch spacing and it sounds great.
A reasonably priced 70's Fender Jbass now is like hens teeth. They should do a proper reissue IMO.
    Easy

Did you even had LPB in the 70s ?

Do you remember how I alluded in the video to the fact that 60's pickup spacing could be correct? I've seen plenty of lake placid blue bases just like this - however most were late 60's models...and they had the 70's big-block logo and serif "Jazz Bass"...but no - I wasn't alive in the 70's so I never had a 70s jazz bass. Have you?

When you say 'vintage style pickups' which ones do you actually mean? 58',62', 63' or 74'?
