+Rohit Singh This video is from Feb 2013.., we have all legit purchased versions of sylenth.. , we don't support piracy... this was an old version on the computer.. Thanks for pointing it out :)
Very nice warm synth line the likes of some older Armin Van Buuren tracks. Did you create the sound in Sylenth or was a preset used? Thanks for your videos, your teaching method is very simple & good. Wish there was a BFA in my part of the world.
Hey Arpit, thank you so much. I probably would have thought about it. But you know having something tutored by our very own desi RedOne makes quite a bit of difference, you see :D
1:58 is wrong. You have to include ATLEAST root and major or minor 3rd to determine the chord. If you play just C and G of Cmaj as in your example, you are playing power chord which does not identify as minor or major chord( Maj 3rd makes it happy, minor 3rd makes it sad/serious etc.). So for example if you play C and G your bass should play the E to make it a C major triad. If you have included atleast C and E, you can play anything from the 5th to any of the chord extensions(7th, 9th, 11th etc).
When i move to F, i stay in C major.. and then split it into different inversions.. so i'm not changing the chord.. but due to change in bass.. it doesnt sound like C... I will make other videos showing the keyboard for easy understanding.. thanks for the tip :)
For a home Music studio which option is better A MIDI Keyboard or a Synthesizer as I also have to perform on stage shows as a Vocalist.... Also which condenser Microphone is better , A USB input or a Sound card one.... Kindly reply
Jai Soni Always use an XLR connection mic and use midi keyboard, because you can expand your sounds library with soft synths but with a physical synth, you have only limited sound banks.
As someone who knows very lil about music theory this gave me some cool ideas as to where to start. Thanks for the vid...i thought it sounded pretty damn good. :-)
and second question: how can you only change the bass? because the bass is the ground note right? so wouldn't you have to change the other notes to because you are playing in another major key?
our sound design and synthesis course, is a detailed way of learning to program and create synth patches with sylenth and massive..!!! yes we are doing this desi style in india!
I always understood from youtube that chords are always formed by using the first third and fifth note in for example c major. than is would be c-e-g but I don't see you do that so is there a rule for that???
+Nanno Simonis He is showing inversions, so yes c-e-g but not always in a tight little cluster and not always in that order right-to-left. Any c-e-g in any order anywhere on the keyboard is still c major, that's what he is demonstrating.
In my opinion side chaining should be used with smallest amount. It is over used.Listen to some older trance and techno tracks. Not much side chaining.

Your knowledge is commendable.. such simple way of conveying a complex idea.
If your Slynth is registered to TEAM ArCADE, try not showing it on a Public video.

74hz You are correct. At least triad and choice of bass line notes which sound good with particular chord.Whole sound would be fuller.
