    I am so glad I was led to see your movie. Your ability to quickly pull from Bible and apply it to gardening is lovely. I am in the process of building a hugelkultur raised bed for veggies. i was so stressed about what to fill it with, and now I know! So grateful to your for sharing and to God. Thank you!

      I made a hugelkulture bed by accident. I tided my gardens by throwing branches and other green rubbish into the raised bed, grass etc. Beautiful soil resulted.

    I love the comment in the beginning of this video. The lady is really asking why his apple tree branches are bent so far over to the ground. She thought that he bent them over himself to bring the branches down. How amazing it is when we see that the abundance is so huge that it is the fruit bending the branches over!! I love this stuff.

      That is actually nothing new. It has been done since forever. I also wouldn't really listen to gardening advice from this guy. You can see how scorched those poor trees are, because he prunes them in such a way that he destroys the upper leaf mass which would protect the branches from direct sun. I don't predict a long an healthy life for these trees.

      Besides, where did you get this logic that you cannot know things if you haven't done them yourself?
      How about you use that nice search function of RUclips and find other experienced people talking about it, so you don't have to believe me?

    Hi Paul I have a neighbor who planted bamboo and its grown all over into my backyard do you have a suggestion how we can limit that growth?

  • @matthewtaylor2185
    @matthewtaylor2185 3 года назад +1

    I love Paul's wisdom and techniques, but I want to warn aspiring gardeners to grow the trees that do well in your zone. Honey crisp trees are hard even for professionals in the north with tons of chemicals. They dont really stand a chance down in Kentucky, but nurseries, Lowe's, tractor supply, home depot, Walmart, et.al., will all sell them because people want what they buy in the store to grow in their backyard. First, consider disease resistance before planting trees, and if it is a name you buy on the store shelves, it likely won't do well in your home orchard completely organically. Check with your local ag extension office, or at least look online at your state's ag college website for documents on what trees do well where you live.

    Hi I love this guy he a novel of inspiration but there is a little info missing as in watering. He says he doesn't water his garden but plants need moisture especially in harsh climates like where we are in Australia. Can you shine a light on the water aspect i.e. does it rain often etc.

    • @SimplifiedPiano
      @SimplifiedPiano  5 лет назад +3

      He does water when he plants. The seed is planted, covered, and watered. What we saw though is that any rain that would come (which I thought it was like 11 inches a year?) not sure on that though.....would be absorbed into the ground and there is essentially no run off at all. His soil in turn consumes all and any moisture that comes to it! Then digging in the soil you see that the plant like has roots that are deep and vibrant! The root structure alone looked as though it would be able to pull moisture for the plant for whatever it needed during it entire life. All this he attributes to the woodchips but really this would be the same with any covering that you may be able to place on your soil. Its a LOT of woodchips!! Hope this helps

    • @kurtstein7631
      @kurtstein7631 5 лет назад

      @@SimplifiedPiano thanks he did say he never waters and that was a bit confusing. He obviously gets regular rain fall so we would have to water quite regularly here but that is ok the science is in on growing ground to grow plants.

    • @dpcsharr
      @dpcsharr 5 лет назад +1

      One of his videos he did mention that he waters when he first plants seeds, because they need the moisture to germinate. When the seed germinates and grows, he doesn’t water anymore because of the covering he has and the moisture already in the ground retained by the covering. The roots developed on the plant reach down or out to wherever it needs beneath the covering for the water.

    • @hosoiarchives4858
      @hosoiarchives4858 5 лет назад +1

      The wood chips make it so you don't have to water. The soil doesn't dehydrate when covered

    • @HaveYouSeenMyGardens
      @HaveYouSeenMyGardens 5 лет назад +1

      @@kurtstein7631 Well he does live in a particularly arid region in Washington, most of the pacific northwest is heavy rainfall but he lives in an inland dry region. In other videos he does touch on how water can drastically improve a situation if you can make it work, but lack of water can be heavily rectified with deep mulching. Additionally the watering issue affects annuals a lot more than perennials like orchards, vineyards, berries, etc.
