Thanks for the update and I can not wait to hear about these opportunities you have. Keeping kicking ass and taking charge!!!
I really appreciate you B!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
I have the Police in that Micro Melt steel, it's absolutely fantastic, it kept the factory edge for a long time, and now it's wearing the "standard" 600dmt +1micron balsa strop set up,,
It loves the toothy edge (imho), and the "Tina's" dissappear with a quick strop,,
All the very best as usual 🇬🇧👍👍. John,,

Never had an issue with any mkc knives. Some of the sharpest factory blades I've used. I use knives on a professional level and beat them up pretty bad. There's plenty of other great options too but my mkcs tend to be a go to. Plus I love the mission of their company. Not say mistakes don't happen but I've been pleased so far. Between my purchases and gift to me I own 4.
Great to hear- thanks for sharing!!🎉🎉🎉
I’ve bought over 30 MKC knives in all the flavours and I haven’t gotten a dull blade yet. I’ve gifted probably a dozen and everyone has commented that it’s the sharpest blade they have ever had.
I have multiple manufacturers of blades and MKC is by far the most versatile and comfortable brand that I have.
On a side note, if you reach out to customer service or utilize their life time sharpening program, they will sort you out.

I have multiple MKC blades and every one has arrived RAZOR sharp. Having used them for heavy use (not abuse) I am amazed at how well they hold an edge. Hey Erica, I’m a recent subscriber and I’ve been loving your videos! This isn’t related to this video but figured it was the most recent so I wanted to ask, your native 5 in Rex 45 that was done by somebody named Anthony… Do you know how he achieved the forced patina and the distressed look on the blade? It almost looks like he kissed the blade on a belt sander after the patina was done. I really love the look of it and I’m hoping to achieve similar results with my Rex 45 manix 2 lightweight. thanks so much and keep up the great content!

My MKC Blackfoot 2.0 came very slicey without any bur. That said I was disappointed with the handle. Perhaps its my long thin fingers, but the ergonomics just don't suit my hand for the way I use it most dressing deer. I have skeletonized handled knives I prefer to G10 on this knife.

I love a quality knife. I’ve got around 300 blades from various manufacturers, by far my favorite are MKC though. Of the 4 dozen blades I’ve received, 5 showed up dull. One was very dull. Their quality is consistently high. The fact that their facility is a small shop on the owners property and they still make enough blades with consistent fit and finish is a testament to american manufacturing. It’s a great small-town company making big moves in the industry.

What about it…?
@ericasedc I am interested in a purchase and I value your experience.
@ I haven’t used it and won’t since it’s way too large for me!
@ericasedc I appreciate your honesty.
I own 20 plus knives form MKC. In all one maybe two come in not shaving hair sharp. The rest of them I could gut and skin a bull, 3 deer and the blade will still be shaving sharp! From my own experience from buying from MKC they do not ship out knives with BUR or an un sharp edge! Sure mistakes happen and some slip through, just like with anything you buy now days. Did you know they have a lifetime warranty! Sucks you may have gotten one that slipped through. A regular person would have contacted MKC to have them fix the issue under their lifetime warranty. Not to difficult. MKC is one of the best companies in the US! I will continue to support them as I do all American owned businesses. Just maybe the knife isn’t the big picture, could it be supporting your fellow Americans and business. Make America great again!
A regular person😂😂😂😂 You won’t find that here. I’m an alien- didn’t you know that?!?! I’m not capable of human things. I do agree though- MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸♥️♥️♥️🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
regular person was directed to all of us. As for you, regular person sure but you are also a content creator, possibly an influencer to some, so not regular to the average person. Average person isn’t looking for content to provide negative or false information about a company. They send it back in to get the issue resolved. Did you know they have a lifetime warranty for those issues?!?!
@ I’m not human though. I identify as an alien. I don’t speak English. I don’t even know who Erica is! However- the mothership did inform me a long time ago that MKC has a lifetime warranty. It’s actually on every email from them and all over their site! Even your mom knows that!
@@ericasedc well I guess since your light years away it may be to difficult to utilize the warranty. Maybe on your next visit to earth 🛸👽
Obviously supply of MKC knives is low, but I’m 100% sure the one I had came de-burred. You’ve obviously had the opportunity to test many spydies and BMs… wondering if you happened to get a lemon with this MKC? I know it’s very unpractical to ask you to test multiple MKC’s, but I’m not sure 1 test subject is enough to condemn them to they don’t de-burr. I’m familiar with the video of Josh smith sharpening and quasi saying to leave a “little burr” on. The way I interpreted it was he was explaining things as simple as possible to mainly non-knife experts. I believe he was trying to make sure people don’t over do it and lose the toothy edge. They also have a lifetime warranty and sharpening program. Be interested to see how it comes back if you send it in telling them you believe you received a non de-burred knife. Also I know most spyderco’s aren’t $300 but they are $200, and benchmade’s are typically $200 easy and many are in the $300 range, but we don’t completely obliterate them when we get a not perfect factory edge. We always say “sometimes they come burnt from belt sharpener, and it takes 2-3 sharpening’s to get to good steel, but that’s typical/expected…” I know de-burring is different, but at the end of the day what matters most is if the geometry is good and the heat treat is good. Most people put their own edges on anyway. I hope you eventually sharpen it and give it a couple of uses after that. That’s what I really want to know about.
@@Passively-Prepared it’s not a lemon. It’s how they’re made. I have the emails🥰thanks so much for watching. We’ll see how the sharpening goes!
@ can’t wait for the sharpening!
But it's over of the other companies makes a mistake they don't tell you it's supposed to be that way.
@ I’m just not convinced that’s the case because 1 customer service representative who more likely than not knows nothing about knives answered 1 email. I don’t even care if you’re selling to non-knife experts, if the thing isn’t smoking sharp enough to shave and fall through paper, the customer is not going to be happy. There is 0% chance they intend to leave their knives that dull. And once again, I owned one, smoking sharp, shaved all of my arm hair off in 1 swipe, fell through paper… I am here telling you they do not all come like that.
@ oh it isn’t one case. I actually have a file with all the emails, photos, videos, documents, responses, etc from probably 20ish people. I don’t think you’re understanding for some reason when I say it’s standard protocol. It’s not just me. This is how they do things. I am not sure how else to explain that to you unfortunately.
Second!

@@LBreezy3913 cool story! Thanks for sharing!
Howdy neighbor to the North. I’m so happy I’ve never bought a knife from Montana Knife Company. $300 and it has a burr on it, no way. Your videos on them have solidified my opinion on them. You’re awesome
@@crazyone5409 who knows. Maybe after sharpening it’ll be better!
Maybe, you never know. Are you going to do a video on the sharpening?
@ yeah didn’t I say that already?
If you did, I missed it 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Montana Knife Company just came out with another blade called The Rocker. I can only imagine how many burrs will be on that one
I think MKC is trying to advertise their edges as being “toothy”. Instead with poor execution they are sending out edges with a burr. You’ve demonstrated before that certain steels perform better with toothy edges. I just wonder if they are using some truth as excuse? As for the Delica I’m wondering if Seki or Spyderco has altered their heat treat protocol since 2 years ago when you had their Cruwear. Maybe the issue with the Cruwear then has made them better able to do PD1 micro melt?
Maybe!!! I am excited to see how the testing continues. 🎉
You can't see them because is hiding comments, but there are thousands of people asking when you'll do a video on the Harbor Freight Icon knife. Do you think you'll have time to make a video on it in the future?
My answer is still no just like it has been every time you have asked❤ which is dang near 12 times now from just you!😂Thanks for watching!🎉
I still have a hard time understanding how a knife company can tell you "we leave a bur on purpose"! They must be blowing smoke figuring what does she know! 😂🤣 BTW my dewar is here. Now I just have to get a few knives ready for heat treat and then get it filled. It's been cold here and I really haven't felt like working in the garage, but it's warming up, so I am going to get at it this weekend.
Keep me updated on how it goes K!🎉🎉🎉
They didn’t say that.
@ they did actually♥️
Glad to help the algorithm…more people can come to the comments and see you’re being dishonest. MKC did not say they ship their knives with a burr.
Thanks so much for commenting so much! I really appreciate it. Make your day great!!🎉🎉❤❤❤
Currently have 15 MKC knives and have bought and traded well over 50 in the past few years….NEVER received one that wasn’t shaving sharp out of the box. These have also held their edge through entire hunting seasons with multiple animals skinned/quartered. Don’t let politics create a biased review….

Man for $300, that MKC knife is kind of garbage. That micro melt Delica is cool. The steel name reminds me of grilled cheese. And now I’m hungry.

Oh, and that wallet looks amazing! I can tell you have a lot of pride in your work and you should because that thing is bangin. And to answer the last question, I’ve been carrying my stretch 2 in K390 every day since I got it and I love this thing. Have a great day! Praying for you always.
@@pow-lowI LOVE YOU!
$300 for MKC? Fuck that. In that price range, I'm going to Allen, Steve, or Kyle
@ Dusty. Levi. Josh. John. Jon. Greg. List goes on and on!!!!!!
I currently have 9 MKC blades and have gifted 3 and NOT ONE SINGLE BLADE CAME TO ME WITH A BUR OR DULL. To say because 1 blade has a bur so all therefore come with them or dull is not a factual statement.
It is. Thanks for watching!🎉🎉
Even if her knife having a burr is a rare occurrence: the fact that it’s a production knife lends to her argument. Production knives won’t have that attention to detail on every blade they make and therefore may release some with less than perfect quality- but for the same price point as a lot of custom knives, having that probability for a production error is not worth the price imo
Her MKC having a burr may not speak for most MKC knives, but hers has one and if I paid full price for a knife and it came in less than perfect, I wouldn’t be happy with my purchase
@ I appreciate you! If custom makers sent knives out that looked like MKC’s- they’d be SHUNNED from the community.
@@OnceProclaimedOptimistthis is an extremely valid point, but the claim is that all MKCs come this way on purpose, not the point that you made. I would have literally zero problem with the point you made.
@ I completely agree! Having a huge production line means 1 knife in 1000 may be defective, but the person buying that defect knife still paid full price --some people don’t want to risk getting that 1, at that price point. Some people want that price to reflect reliability
I'm sorry, but every time you show that Montana Knife Co .... thing... It's disgusting. They should be ashamed. And yet just a few changes (and a proper sharpening that isn't done by the same people that sharpen for Case) it could be a decent little knife.
?
I am curious to see how the sharpening goes!🎉🎉
@ericasedc More curious about edge holding after your sharpening.
@ yes!
Yeah, saw the picked email replies, does not say we ship with a burr.
Thanks so much for watching and commenting so much. It really helps the algorithm. I appreciate it! Make it a great day!!!🎉🎉❤❤❤
When did MKC say they leave a burr on purpose? Never happened, you should edit your video. A working edge does not mean burr. Good thing about MKC is if something did get missed on quality get with them and they’ll fix it. Free sharpening for life. Pretty irresponsible video you have here.

@@ericasedc And thanks to Mr YT Algorithm, "Thanks for helping out, guys. You're the best!".
@@ericasedccurious how sharing personal experiences is acting like baboons? I imagine bringing that audience and your audience together can only be a net positive for the community so we can arrive somewhere in the middle at the truth? Isn’t that what we’re after? Or are we just after one sect of the community bashing another sect, with no open mindedness for other opinions? I’m sure some hardcore fanboys can benefit from you covering their shortcomings, and hardcore haters can benefit from hearing about users who have had positive experiences. Also helps the algorithm. The further we get into this, it seems more like an agenda to attack with no regards for others who have positive things to say, than it seems like getting to the bottom of reality.
No more Magnecut after March , or S30V, or S35VN . crucible company is going out of business 😞
