I write this comment from New Delhi. Whenever I watch these videos, I'm literally glued to the screen of my phone. I don't know, if I will ever visit these locations. I, though, give thumbs up many times to the Presenter - very crisp & clear voice - and videography...extremely mesmerizing. It actually reflects the hard work put into making these presentations. 😊
great video gram, but deserves more than just singular presentation on YT it should be edited on National Geographic magazine. To the author, thank you Sir, very nice presentation.
Beautiful!! Love watching these videos and winding down on a cold winter's night. Leaves one yearning for a good ole railroad trip through the Pacific Northwest. And this one named after John Frank Stevens, the chief engineer of the Panama Canal under Teddy Roosevelt from 1905-1907 :) Stevens should get more notoriety, incredible man in his own right! An American legend indeed!
There is a statue honoring Stevens on Marias Pass in Montana. Looking at those rugged mountains you would never think anyone could build a railroad there.
@@7ideaproductions yes absolutely! There's a very good book on Stevens by a Cliff Foust, the man was super tough fellow. A rare breed. He usually went scouting with a Native American guide, and would often go by himself, in conditions so cold on occasion he couldn't sleep, and was forced to tramp back and forth the entire night just in order to survive. When he visited Sagamore Hill, the home of President Roosevelt in 1905 before leaving for Panama, his stories impressed TR so much, they hit it off, and enforced his hiring as Chief Engineer. They certainly had in common "The Strenuous Life".
Used to go from Sacramento to East glacier park every summer for 12 years via amtrak. Used to watch EB trains come out of marias pass from glacier park lodge. We got the Oregon cascades, the Columbia River Gorge, and Montana, our final morning on the train. @7ideaproductions
Man talk about perfect timing. Here I sit inside a cabin deep in the mountains of Idaho. 200mbps starlink connection and I’m watching this masterpiece as the snow outside piles up.
I love it! Your willingness to tromp through snow and ice and get wet gave us amazing scenes. That video of Skykomish with the power outage is really eerie. I frequently watch the VR camera at Sky and really enjoy the scene.
These are the best railroad videos on RUclips. Great work, love the historical information. The work and time you put in to get some of the shots is amazing.
I own a majority of your Blu-Ray videos Aaron and I absolutely love them. Thank you for sharing some of them on here...I sure hope it helps entice new customers to purchase them.
I LOVE your videos...I have purchased several DVDs over the years and it's nice to also have access via youtube...I can watch these videos for days on end!
Having driven over Stevens at least a hundred times, this beautiful winter view of the rail operations leaves me flabbergasted. Great video and great subject. Thank you!
I have just been loving every video of yours that I watch. I grew up in Libby MT chasing trains on the Kootenai Sub, and that video made me miss home. This one was awesome as well.
Thank you for posting! Loved to Railfan from Lowell to the Cascade tunnel portal when I lived in Washington. Skykpmish, Foss River trestle, and the tunnel were the favorite spots to watch. Would like to share that there is a Skykomish railcam here on RUclips.
Very well done. I live about a half mile from the Scenic Sub and hear them hugging Puget Sound all night long. It absolutely is beautiful up along The Sky.
To be an operator driving these trains gotta be one of the best jobs in the country. Can only imagine the scenery and sights an operator must see on these long runs.
This was kind of long for me to watch,But once I started I could not turn it off, This was the best footage I've ever seen, Love the Skykomish area with the snow and mountains. And be it drone or auto the filming and clarity was the best. I'll be subing ,Thank you for posting.
The sheer volume of snow that gets dumped on that line east of Skykomish never ceases to amaze me. BNSF once had a giant measuring stick on the west end of the tunnel for measuring snow depth, and went up to 12 FEET in height.
I live on Chumstick Hwy, just north of Leavenworth, and trains pass through here quite frequently throughout the day. Thank you; this was very interesting to watch.
I live in Goldbar. Awesome video! I feel the trains rumble by 24/7. Great presentation of our local beauty. I am blessed with these views daily, as the back of our place presents 180* views of the slopes looking north towards Wallace falls.
7idea Productions are definitely the best producers of incredibly beautiful, insightful and creative train videos on the planet. Somehow, I believe your business involves doing other types of videos besides the train videos? I realize that this one was added to your channel four months ago, and this is the first comment I’ve made on it even though I’ve watched it three times. I guarantee you I will watch it again in the future, just as I will all your other videos. Thank you so much.
I ran across your channel a couple months ago and man I am glad I did. You have been spot on for us here in the MidSouth. Thank you so much for the great work.
The production value of the videos on this channel are astounding! The voice-overs, sound design... impeccable! I can only imagine what the EDL looks like. I feel if one were to watch, REALLY watch a video or two from this channel every week and study those videos, you could probably skip quite a few classes of "film school". GREAT WORK and thanks!!!
Thank you to the brave people who went out in this weather to make this video possible. Hello from Queensland Australia. I have actually been close to this part of Washington State. I stayed with a friend at Everret. I just wished that he told me about this place. I know we couldn't get to Leavenworth due to the pass being almost closed. Keep these great videos coming. 😊
29:52 That's funny, I was going to ask if railroad employees ever see Bigfoot. I always liked the green BN locomotives as a kid and imagined how cool they must have looked rolling through the mountains. Thanks for the video!
you should cover the old tracks from before the tunnel. also this was a great snow storm, my daughters was born in it, it was nice to have the snow falling outside our bedroom window having her that night.
Interesting/informative/entertaining. Excellent photography job enabling viewers to better understand what the orator is describing. Enjoying this presentation from the warmth/ comfort of my computer room. Along the " Space Coast " 🚀 of Florida🐊. ( 2-18-24 ) Wishing viewers/train 🚂 employees a safe/healthy/prosperous ( 2024 )🌈🎉😉
i think ..watching "breakheart pass" tooooo many times, has sort of ruined this majestic scenery for me. Im always expecting Bronson to pop up and start fighting.🥵 just kidding. Such glorious scenery and grand narration😬😬🫡 This deserves millions of views.
Wow Thanks for this show Hope THE 4449 DOESTHIS VERY TRIP AGAIN man Just WONDERFUL Congratulations on a wonderful channel 😊😅😮😢🎉😂❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂❤ OH WE had to turn up the furnace Just to watch this excellent video..... ❤❤❤❤❤
I’m doing this next December...I’ve ridden SEA-CHI 3x in the spring, summer & fall... It’s time to earn that “black bandana” 🤫. All you need is Boost Oxygen
PAINT THE BRIDGE....? The North Fork Bridge at Skykomish, (7:50), looks like it could do with some serious TLC. It must surely be false economy in the long term to neglect painting bridges such as this. With rainfall at the levels they are in The Cascades, metal stuff going rusty must be pretty much the norm. This bridge will be good old fashioned American Steel.....so of a quality not around these days. Here in the UK The Forth Bridge, carrying the railway north over the Firth of Forth, north of Edinburgh in Scotland, was always painted on a regular basis to protect it from corrosion. The standard line that almost every schoolboy knew growing up was that when they reached the end of painting the bridge they then started all over again at the other end. Some years back they decided that the bridge could be given a 'maintenance holiday' for a while, which was obviously a money-saving exercise. The wiser and seasoned workers, who worked on the bridge, (whose fathers and grandfathers had also worked on it), said this would be a false ecomony, but they were ignored. An so it came to pass that the years of neglect resulted in the bridge needing very extensive....and expensive.....repairs. We have now been told that the special paint now covering it will protect it for decades. Granted The Forth Bridge is in a more corrosive environment, (salty sea air), something which the North Fork Bridge is not, but the principle of protecting steel from corrosion by painting it remains the same. James Hennighan Yorkshire, England P.S. As for The Forth Bridge being protected for decades with its new coats of paint....? Well, we'll just have to wait and see if that happens. Presuming, of course, that we all live long enough...
My question is: why did they take a useful train line and turn it into a bicycle trail at Snoqualmie pass? A light rail line would increase business at the pass and alleviate the bad traffic during heavy snow times. Fix it Washington!

how do you find all this information on the trains and their destinations?
