Think of NCT U as the "mix-n-match" unit. The members vary on a per song basis, and can be any number and/or combination of any of the overall members... members are chosen for a track based on who happens to fit that particular concept best. We normally only see NCT U during special all-member album era's though, of which there have been just 3 of in the 7 years they've been active. Their 4th will happen this year according to SM... so be on the look out for NCT 2023.
For Shotaro and Sungchan. They are expected to debut in NCT Japan later this year. It's is of course not official yet that they are the line up but they have been training with the new rookies, filming shows with them etc so it's pretty obvious.
Exactly, when someone stan NCT, they tend to just focused on the most popular and well known unit without checking out the others. We can be a 127zen or DREAMzen or WayZennie and still support other neos at the same time.

just to clarify the nct system (which it was the unlimited members) has ended so it means they will no longer add new members after the ones that are gonna debut in nct tokyo this year. we still don't how many they are but people think they will be like 3 or 4 maybe, after that there are not gonna be new guys anymore.
Sungchan and Shotaro will debut in a few months with 3 more new members (Shohei, Eunsok, Sunghan) and the 5 of them will make up NCT Tokyo which will be the LAST NCT unit since after that the higher ups at SM said that they will no longer add new members to NCT therefore they're concept of infinite expansion will be discontinued. ohhhh... if you like OK! than you guys should check out Saturday Drip...... It's a song consists of NCT DREAM rapper. It's a little different but I think it's on par with OK! for me. My favorite sub unit is Dream and I hope it's okay that I'm recommending dream songs under your U reaction...... Some other darker sounding NCT DREAM B-sides recommendation are Drippin', 119, Stronger, Quiet Down, and Bungee. Some cuter ones would be Love Again, Life is Still Going On, ANL, and Teddy Bear. For Life is Still Going On and ANL, they did a live performance celebrating their 5th anniversary and it showcase their vocals and skill so much ㅠㅠ Dreamies are just really cute to watch live in general cuz they are basically a really close group of friends doing what they love. If you guys end up watching and learning a bit more about Dream, there are a few songs that means a lot to both the Dreamies and the fans. They are kinda sad, bittersweet sometimes, but also really hopeful. You guys should definitely look at the lyrics when reacting to these 3 songs. First would be Dear DREAM. Some of the Dreamies participated in the lyrics writing and it's basically a letter to each other before Mark graduate. Second I would say is Rainbow, the lyrics says it all. The third is Graduation, which has a special video that summarizes their journey so far and it has most of the fans ugly crying hhh. If you guys ended up liking the NCT DREAM B-sides, would highly recommend checking out the Hello Future and the Beatbox album as a whole because every song on these two albums are so different but they all slap. You will definitely find something you like cuz there is just so much variety......

And please react to WayV's Bad Alive and Action Figure MVs. They never truly got their momentum cuz of the difficult situation between Korea/China and also cuz of the Lucas scandal but they're a fabulous group.

its really not that complicated NCT has 4 current units NCTU - debuted as 7 members, now 23 members NCT127 - debuted as 7, now 9 (used to be 10 but Winwin moved to WayV) NCT Dream - debuted as 7, 7 as of 2020 (was 6 for a little bit as Mark 'graduated' but they cancelled that so 7 again) WayV - debuted as 7, Lucas currently on hiatus so 6 for recent comeback in 2018 Lucas & Jungwoo were added to the 18 members at the time, Jungwoo later joined 127 & Lucas debuted with WayV in 2019 in 2020 Sungchan & Shotaro were added to the 21 members, they're not in a fixed unit YET, but are part of NCTU, we're hoping their fixed unit will debut soon with SMRookies, they're part or Resonance & Universe albums OK is from 2021 Universe album btw
