In the manga, it’s clearer, but the milk tea is the brand that she wanted to buy earlier in the previous episode.
“I melted” both literal and figuratively relevant. Yamada’s chocolate melts, but so too does Ichikawa’s icy personality. He is fully aware of his feelings for Yamada and enjoys going to school now. This is the type of natural character development we love to see from an MC.
The direction of this show continues to blow me away and amaze me. The ending sequence with the episode title card was just immaculate.
“You can’t wank to girls you like” too real. I’ve actually felt that way since Junior High. It’s like when you actually like someone, you can’t see yourself denigrating them to just an object of lust. I don't know if everyone is like that but I am and never heard an anime character say that so that was really cool.
Yamada's heart also melted and she realized her feelings
This episode was really so incredibly directed and storyboarded. They're so kawaii together and looks like Ichikawa is finally accepting his feelings for Yamada. That was very nice to see him getting uncomfortable when someone talks about her in that way.
That one scene at the Library with Kensuke Ushio's music was just Chef's kiss. So beautiful. ❤❤❤❤
1:58 This scene makes a bit more sense if you watch episodes 5 and 6 in succession. In episode 5, right before they go to the Akita Publishing Building, Yamada wanted to go to the convenience story to buy milk tea, but was denied by Chihiro, her "boyfriend". Since Ichikawa bought her the milk tea, it's implied that Yamada thinks that Ichikawa was paying attention and cares for her on a deeper level (whether other or not though Ichikawa actually was listening in and paying attention to when Yamada said that, or if it was purely coincidental is up for the viewer's interpretation).
Great episode. Halfway through season 1, and I have really enjoyed this anime. I cannot believe it.
And what was said in this episode was true. A man mostly cannot pleasure themselves thinking about the girl that they are in love with. This happens because when a man falls in love with a woman, he falls in love with both her beauty and her heart, so a man doesn't want to "taint" her, damage her. Sadly, this is also one of the many reasons why guys in love rarely get the girl that they are in love with, because they start viewing the girl as an angel, and then the guy doesn't act masculine around her, and instead he starts acting goofy and odd around her.
If you're a man, and you want to get a girl, you have to make sure that you also view her like if you are craving her physically, or else she will view you as annoying.

This is in fact a turning point for the show
The moment Ichikawa hands Yamada the milk tea bottle is the moment she herself realized her feelings for Ichikawa, similar to how he did in the nurse's office back in Ep 3
Ichikawa is still gonna remain doubtful, but even though Yamada is now more on the offensive with her moves, Ichikawa still has his own moments that help progress the relationship forward
Because of that milk tea, Yamada fell in love with Ichikawa
