From a United fan - this kid was very impressive! Against physically bigger players, he held his own, neat touches, quick and has an intelligent look to his game. He could perhaps be a Samir Nasri v 2.0 for City. Great prospect!
Jamie Kimz your disrespecting the talent of nasri if nasri didnt get involved in wrong things and focused on football he wasnt behind the likes of david silva iniesta etc in talent.
As another United fan, I disagree. He has the potential to achieve way more than Nasri has achieved. More David Silva for me. Also, if he had more pace, everyone would be comparing him to another little fella at his age. Some beautiful one touch passing. Hope he stays injury free.and reaches his potential.
Akshat Pande it seems like physical players have some sort of advantage over more smaller techincal players? Yea because players like Xavi and Iniesta, Messi, didnt prove otherwise to some of the biggest EPL team at the time. Such revelations.
In that performance he's shown everything, I had high expectations but now he raised them even higher. We didn't miss Silva(that much) because of him. Such an intelligent player. Hope he keeps up this form
Theres alot more than you think. The problem is getting opportunity and puberty age diffrences. The prem is a victim of its own success. Its hard for coaches to experiment eith youth with a nous around their necks after 2 losses...unless youre Wenger of course. I hope Pep can open the eyes of coaches and owners to be be more brave with their lineups and tactical approches.
Taryn Brown that's changing now. You have the likes of Lallana, Alli, Barkley, Rashford, Winks and RLC in the senior squad. Lower down the age groups you have the likes of Mount, Hudson-Odoi, Maddison, Edwards, Lookman, Dowell, Sancho, Roberts, Gribbin, Gomes, Cook, Oakley-Boothe and this lad (plus many others). If you've watched the UEFA Youth League, and Youth international tournaments recently you'll have noticed the massive improvement in the technical standard of young English players.
Mamunur Rashid he's one of many talented young midfielders in the England youth set up and they all look "un-english" in their style. one day maybe saying "he plays like an English midfielder" will be a compliment lol
theres quite a few coming through, but its getting the opportunity that will define their careers. look at alli and loftus cheek. loftus cheek stood out way more at england youth level but alli joined a side with a manager who trusts young players where loftus cheek has just rotted. you'll most likely see a similar rise with winks at spurs next season. until chelsea and city start trusting these lads then i cant see how they are gonna develop.
MC FC Cough pep didn't go out there to lose to united, cough I was there when we beat ye 1-0 in the cup last time, cough if we had lost it wouldn't be 'just a friendly', cough winner winner chicken dinner
Problem with City this game was that they couldn't deal with Pogba or Herrera breaking down the their midfield. The defence couldn't really keep up with Mhkitaryan, Lukaku or Martial in the 2nd half.
United fan. Did exceptional especially for his age. city lost. He wasnt the cause. He didnt score and didnt assist because city wasnt up to United. He's one for the books.
His physical build isnot there yet. You need to reach certain age so your height and muscle went into a good composition. I saw Suarez when he was in his first time with Ajax. He was nothing but a skinny boy. Long time not seeing him, i saw his muscular appearance in WC 2010. 17 yo boy should play with boys not with the big man.
bangroji true but remember messi at 17 he destroyed Juventus which at that moment had some of the best defence. they need to give him game time so he can adjust.
Why Germany are good in senior level? That is because they let boys play with boys and men play with men. They never push 17 yo boys to play regularly in premium division. YES 19 aka Under 21 is in MEN category. But not 17 yo. 2 years from 17 yo - 19 yo is important phase in your body development. 17 yo boys should play with men......that is outside football field. In football field, you must do something that is text book.
Thanks GOD Foden plays for Pep. Pep knows Foden's potential very well. He can learn from D.Silva and De bryne. Imagine Foden plays for Mourinho. It's disaster!
I can't lie as a Man Utd fan this kid is good, if Pep doesn't give him a chance while he's there then he is Pep Fraudiola for true and the City Academy is a waste of time.
That kid's pure talent and what a composure for this age and size... Could be the next Paul Scholes ! It's sad to think that his talent will potentially be wasted at Man City where he'll always be behind some Brazilian, Spanish or whatever Latino crap they'll buy for tens of millions...
He's a class player. But not sure if Pep would play him in any EPL or CL games next season. He doesn't seem to trust players from the City academy, preferring to spend insane sums on players from other teams. Sad that Iheanacho is leaving City..
Michael Chong Ihenacho was wasting his talents with aguero and Jesus fighting for #1. He will get to play now and keep his form and probably get better. And he left on good terms so he is welcome back in the future
student helper England haven't played "hit and chase" football for a decade now. Plenty of young English players like this in youth set-ups - they just don't get enough chances to play.
Who is overhyping him? He was solid in a pre-season friendly against United, that's all. The most impressive thing is that he didn't get bullied even with his slight frame.
A guy doesn't really get bigger till around 19 or 20 I was skinny at 17 then when I hit about 22 I went bigger and I'm nearly 26 so I'm bigger then most 17 year old but he's still young so needs at least 5 years to mature then when he's like 22 or 23 he may r look bigger and then people will start looking at him as as a man and not kid
He is not good enough yet , he plays short passes rather than those farward killer passes in the final third ..which makes him more like busquets than any body not like Silva at all..he also struggles in a 2 man midfield than a 3 because there are less around him to ping around ..under pep I can see him becoming a Silva cause pep will want him to play those dangerous passes but if he is not under pep he will just be another waste of English talent and become a Brittain of Swansea , lots of short passes away from goal with no danger..so people don't get carried away yet😆the best prospect so far at city is still Garcia aleix
@@GGM28 actually looking back at it, it was a good take , it took him 3 yrs to develop into who he is today and after this season he slowly got better , he still struggles when played through the middle now and does better on the wing , even now pep plays him closer to goal because he's good in tight spaces and his connection with the short passes make him hard to pick up ...non of that has changed ...pep has just used him to maximize his effect and he understands the system better ...his most improvement has been his finishing , and he's starting to slowly develop his long passing ( notice they have him take corners ).
Foden is not a final third player. If he develops well, he could become an all-around midfield maestro. A world-class player like Iniesta never had great end product, but would always score crucial goals. Go look at how long it took Xavi and Iniesta to establish themselves. Foden has a good foundation, you can't expect him to be complete at 17. Even Messi still has a lot of flaws at 17 years old. The fact that he is already showing good awareness, composure and a silky first-touch shows he has massive potential. For such a small lad, he didn't get bullied out there, has some power in his shot too. He will improve as he gets more experience, gains size and strength and becomes more comfortable with the speed of the game at senior level.
From a United fan - this kid was very impressive! Against physically bigger players, he held his own, neat touches, quick and has an intelligent look to his game. He could perhaps be a Samir Nasri v 2.0 for City. Great prospect!
A Samir Nasri v 2.0 isn't a great prospect, if he worked hard and he lived to his potential he could be more of a david silva v 2.0
Jamie Kimz your disrespecting the talent of nasri if nasri didnt get involved in wrong things and focused on football he wasnt behind the likes of david silva iniesta etc in talent.
Jamie Kimz nasri can be a fantastic player but he's just lazy

Half a video of sideways and back passing... Several wastes shots, he's another overrated City player.
4:20 is back passing
not happy our u17 ripped your EPL defensive line?
H Doodat thanks for showing some decency
He is no longer just a good player, he is an elite player now.
I like this kid so much and I'm United fan. His ball control, passing etc.. He is good enough too start every match in Ligue 1!
Not a hater i love the kid but phil jones could start every game in league 1
