The lyrics really remind me of a regret once. I remember being a good player of volleyball during my high school. I even got a recommendation to tryout in a famous university and surprisingly was selected to join summer training. However I never did persevere and just wasted the chance. After a month of training I decided to go back home in the province. And here I am now frustrated of the fact that I gave up my passion of just being able to play and enjoy volleyball.
That's never happened to me but I feel sorta feel how much regret you are feeling right now. If I knew that I'd had a chance to play volleyball but didn't, I know I'd feel soo much regret afterwards and probably be miserable.
Please dont be so tough with yourself. I cant imagine your pain ou regret, but I know you have a lot of good memories from that time of your life, just listen to that song and remind yourself the pleasure that you felt then, be greatful of the path you chose, you are amazing for being so strong, you made a decision and thats all. I wish I had started volleyball back in middle school like I wanted to. I shouldn't have held back just because my family said i was too short. Now highschool is almost over and all i feel is regret that i didnt play. I picked up haikyuu a couple years ago and it brought back the love i had for the sport and Ugh it hits hard 😭

And they also play some other Japanese songs like Yoru ni Kakeru of Yoasobi when the Japan team got an point. If their competitors score, they also play some songs of that country to cheer.
I practiced this last night for 15 or 16 minutes STRAIGHT I almost gave up but I got the hang of it and the reason I wanted to memorize the song was because it was so catchy lmfao
