You can tell this crew is professional (I am a retired B747 Captain), excellent thinking, communication by ATC....just doesn't get any better.Bravo!! This could have been VERY DIFFERENT. (Just watched a tower controller tell a flight control emergency to "GO AROUND" and they all died.) Had they not tried the go-around they had the runway made. PRIORITIES....!!! DO NOT MESS AROUND WITH FLIGHT CONTROL ISSUES.
Especially curious when the USA FAA regulations explicitly state: "A pilot who encounters a Distress condition should declare an emergency by beginning the initial communication with the word “Mayday,” preferably repeated three times. For an Urgency condition, the word “Pan‐Pan” should be used in the same manner." (For ATC) "If the words “Mayday” or “Pan-Pan” are not used but you believe an emergency or an urgent situation exists, handle it as though it were an emergency." IE, pilots should not declare an emergency by saying "I'm declaring an emergency".
If the plane is losing flight controls why fly over population to the furtherest of the three options? The two other fields were closer and much less populated?
@@AlienGamer44 Thanks, but if you dont make it, it would not matter. Crash into a neighborhood or a an empty field/desert. I would have thought SOP would be closest option. I am not a pilot, just trying to understand.
@chip9177 I fly The same type of aircraft as They was flying they had flight control that was working I would have chosen Vegas Also They did a good job in The situation if they was worried bout losing everything which they wasn't They would have chosen The closet airport
@chip9177 I'm based out of Vegas I've flown With her a Few times she is very good captain she don't take risk Like I said earlier we run our check list With fligh control issues doesn't mean it's a Very serious situation They are back up system so it wasn't that bad as it sounded
@@chip9177most airlines have similar, yet slightly different SOP’s. What you are referring to is the nearest “suitable” airport. Most likely Vegas was the nearest “suitable” airport. Very different than the nearest airport depending on the emergency.
@dksjdhrdjsndn4067 no, it is non standard and can lead to delay as atc has to clarify if it is panpan or mayday Plus 2 syllable vs entire sentence It is more likely to be misunderstood and unprofessional
@@aalhard Non-Standard yes, however it does the exact same thing as saying "Mayday x3" or "Pan-Pan" x3. I work in Air Traffic Control in the USA, I've never had MAYDAY used on my frequency, it also here is a standard that is not , i.e if you have a flap failure you're going to scare the controller by saying Mayday, vs saying declaring an emergency.

Professionals at work! Awesome work from everyone included!
Yes, conclusion of flight Clearwings 66😮
So how did it end?
On the ground, either 1 or multiple piece
@@eagle1107flyervery smart 😅
Everyone including ground was perfect
Ended in a cliffhanger.
How do we know this is real ATC? What if they used Foley artists?
Wth, no ending, Did they make it down safely?
Could you at least show us the rest of what happens???
Maybe he hasn't the ATC?
I was on the flight and we all died.

So annoying that the pilots don't use PAN-PAN or Mayday unlike the rest of the world.

I'm a pilot myself you go to a airport that has emergency vehicles and services that can handle anything
