Film series Scotty is one of the best one-liners of the franchise! HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO TELL YOU THE RIGHT TOOL FOR THE RIGHT JOB!!!!!!! I don’t think I’ve ever seen him happier.
I just love Scotty so much. His one liners, his humor, his sarcasm. James Doohan was just a phenomenal actor. The acting profession lost a bright light when he passed.
I haven't watched these movies since I was a kid. It was all sbout the space ships and the battles for me then. Only now appreciating how good the banter between these guys is.
@Ben Cooper Nevermind that, where the heck are the steps emerging from the shuttle itself? We literally have that technology right now in buses and caravans!
@@ghramsey1681 TOS shuttles only had doors on the side but I'm pretty sure they had one of those fold down ladders as part of the door mechanism. EDIT: Okay I was kind of wrong, they have like this weird setup where the bottom part of the door folds down over the nacelle to create a kind of ramp, but there's also this small lid on the nacelle that also folds out to create an additional step so there's sort of a ladder?
My nephew and I watched Episode: 64 The Tholian Web one time and at the ending where Kirk was back on the bridge in his old chair, my nephew thought Kirk missed his chair. And judging by that line “I miss my old chair”, I suppose my nephew was right, back when Kirk was trapped in the interphase.
Scotty complains, but he does love and care for Enterprise-A. After all, it's not *her* fault that she was put together by monkeys. She's doing her best and he's being a good "father-figure" for her by assuring her she's doing fine and helping her through her growing pains.
Or maybe: mom and dad visited Starfleet, and all I got was this stupid captaincy. lol (or ship - though he would never call the Enterprise a stupid ship, even as a joke)

I know there has been a long running debate if the enterprise A is a brand new ship or a older existing one considering all the bugs scotty has to get worked out of her she seems to be a new one
Everything Wrong With Star Trek V: The Final Frontier - how did Scotty know they were talking about Klingons when the discussion was taking place on the bridge and he was all the way in engineering?
Well, he knew Kirk. Also, you don't think Scotty keeps an open mike, muted on his end, to best anticipate his Captain? You've got a lot to learn about bein' a miracle worker there laddie.
Maybe Scotty was briefed while he was in temporary command. As 3rd officer (but in temporary command while Kirk and Spock are absent) he might have been told something with the Klingons was up. Uhura would have known and told him I would think. Off camera, but plausable.
I love how the Enterprise is just sitting out there by itself cause they can't afford to show anything else. It looks like it's sitting on a toy stand. The interiors look like they're on an Epcot ride. 🤣😂😂
Is it just me? Notice that when the elevator door closes, they're facing the aft of the ship because the shuttles are facing them, and you can clearly see the bay doors. Does the elevator rotate so that when the door opens and they're on the bridge, they're now facing the bow instead of aft or just an error on their part altogether?
And pray tell, are the other commanders to get experienced if star fleet don't send them out instead of keep calling the Enterprise in? Loads of ships no seasoned captains, I wonder why?
Wonder why they simply didn't put Kirk on another ship? Was it an issue of pride? We know Kirk doesn't like to share command, and there might be other captains who don't want to relinquish their commands, so it looks like Starfleet was stuck with that situation...
Politics. If I had to guess, Kirk is friends with some Admirals in Starfleet command, while other Admirals didn't like Kirk very much. They wanted to make Kirk's job hard, and made up some excuse about Kirk needing to be the one to do it (even if his ship wasn't 100%). Hoping to embarrass Kirk, they sent him out with a half-baked ship, and just barely enough crew. If he does the job - great. If the Enterprise fails, then it will only make the Admirals that hate Kirk happy to see him fail.
Ah, 23rd century technology. When they have the technology to invent spaceships that can travel across the galaxy, but still can't figure out how to make the steps slide out from the shuttle door automatically when it opens. This is technology we already have available to us right now, but apparently we'll forget how to do that by the 23rd century, lol.
Now,, you see(in the 24th century)that diversity, equity, and inclusion leads to incompetence... looking on the 21st century today, they were being kind when this movie came out... and quite Truthful...
xadam2dudex its a BRAND NEW ship. They took it out for a spin, got 2 minutes out and realized that apart from the engine, everything had been essentially rushed and blu-tacked together. So Scotty has the unenviable task of putting it all back together.

and I am sure he would "Get out and push" if needed as well.
do you know we never got to finds out the answer to that very important question what does god want with a star ship ?
I just love Scotty so much. His one liners, his humor, his sarcasm. James Doohan was just a phenomenal actor. The acting profession lost a bright light when he passed.
You continually get the impression that Starfleet consists of Enterprise and a few scattered tin can destroyers.
LOL, yes, pretty much!
Starfleet Budget cuts…
To be fair space is huge even with warp speed.
I haven't watched these movies since I was a kid. It was all sbout the space ships and the battles for me then. Only now appreciating how good the banter between these guys is.
One great thing about this movie is soundtrack it's beautiful
The special effects for the film were truly diabolical. But it really did have a great Kirk, Spock and McCoy story. And the soundtrack......epic!
Yeah, if only they'd had better special FX. And a better script. And a decent director. And a completely different story that wasn't terrible.
You don't like the special effects? I always thought the shuttle scenes were kinda fun.
+Dmetsys The Voyage Home is certainly overrated, but worse than The Final Frontier? Not by any measure.
In a list of things to fix in ST V...the special effects are way on the bottom of the list if you ask me :D
Ya thats about all Star Track 5 had going for it but it did have that at least!
Fun Fact: The Starfleet Admiral was played by Harve Bennett, writer/producer for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Star Trek films.
I like that they’re still favouring the Galileo over all their other shuttlecraft.
She is a lovely little shuttle.
I never caught the "oh please" at 3:27 before!
In case nobody caught it, the entire landing bay area is basically an updated version of the TOS NCC 1701 landing bay.
And if it were done today it would be all CGI instead of the practical effects we got in this shot.
I find it kinda funny that it's the 23rd century and they still have 2 guys lugging around steps so it's easier to enter and exit the shuttlecraft.
@Ben Cooper Nevermind that, where the heck are the steps emerging from the shuttle itself? We literally have that technology right now in buses and caravans!
@@Takeshi357 True. But in 1989 we did not... yet.

The Enterprise with the moon in the background. I wish i
I'd seen this on the big screen.

I've seen this movie so many times, and this is the first time I heard that line.
I like it when he says oh please😂
Regardless of the popularity of this movie it has some of the best one liners in the entire series.

I miss my old chair
Spock: "Aww..."
When Star Trek was still Star Trek.
"Can we have a little quiet, please?" 2:26 Post-Yosemite hangover.
Kirk's shirt should have read: mom and dad visited Starfleet, and all I got was this stupid tee shirt.
