I think applying the tree wound makes sense. You might not need it with a vertical cut, but a horizontal cut will collect dust and viruses. Rain will wash contaminants into the tree. That will cause the living tissue to recede, and you don't want that while the grafts begin to adhere.
Thanks for the support 🌿🥑 I watch Gray E. Martin cover his grafts with ripped jean pants sleeve ,and other leave unprotected so this is what I came up with.
🤞 Fingers crossed hope they take. I'm praying 🙏 to the avo gods on this one. Really, I only need one. Thanks for all the support. Stay tuned for updates 🪵🌿
@@rkchhangte2632 ideally Spring and Fall. If you're in a place with Mediterranean climate with cool summers it will also work just keep your tree hydrated and your scions half shaded during heat waves. I would recommend you feed a month before you stump so the tree has stored energy to bounce back faster and push through the scion once healed. ✌️🥑 thanks for watching
I didn't wet the inside but the wound was definitely shedding moisture. Sometimes it looked excessive so I would take the bag off and let it breathe for a couple minutes.
They took but the deer protection fencing was left open by the weed whacking crew and the deer ate them. 🤦♂️ I then let it branch out and came in with cleft grafts that also took. I will show updates thanks for watching more avocado tree grafting stay tuned ✌️🥑

Interesante gracias.
@@JulioGomez-if8vo Gracias por el apoyo✌️🥑
Personally I like one vertical cut, and then insert the scion from the top - that way the existing bark also puts pressure for better contact.
Thank you for your input I will attempt and video that method too. Stay tuned thanks for watching ✌️🥑
Nice.
Welcome to the community, and thanks for your encouragement. I hope they take 🙏🤞 Stay tuned for updates.

Did you wet the inside?
I do this with a produce bag and it works sometimes. But sometimes the Scion does well until I remove the bag then dies.

Any update? When do you check after grafting?
I checked yesterday checkout the YT short link below. ruclips.net/user/shortsr0YVknoyAgc?si=CpQbpyeQvU_3Ih5W
So it can be grafted on any tree.
How did these turn out ??

My uncles were handy men. Those guys are legends in my minds eyes. I asked for money at age 8, and they put me to work 😂
