The key is to make cleaning up part of the art of cooking. You could try next time is to be as organized and as neat as you can making little improvements each time. Cleaning as you go makes the cleaning much easier because the food substances hasn't gunked up and hardened. Trust me I used to dread cooking for the same reason. Now I dread it because the ingredients are so expensive lol.
It's pretty well done, the only different is here in Bologna we mix besciamella and sauce together (when making layers, not the sauces!) rather than making separate layers.
