After the more serious Evita and Ray of Light, it was so enjoyable to see Madonna return to her fun side (reminiscent of her early work) with this song. I remember thinking when this song came out that she really can do no wrong - her talent is so massive. Love that you both enjoyed it so much. Cheers!
Well, you're right because was produced by William Orbit who produced the Ray of light album...and the song is all about psychedelic 60s 70s vibe.....the intro is like Light my Fire by The Doors
The music of the American summer of 99, according to Rolling Stone here in Brazil. Reminds me of me when I was 15.... Madonna looks stunning in this video, one of my favorites. Thank u girls. Next Step, Music and the new millenium.
“Ray-diant Madonna “ was the caption in a magazine at the time- still basking in the ROL success with another William Orbit collab. Looking and sounding amazing with those enhanced vocals.
This is my ABSOLUTELY F.A.V.O.R.I.T.E MADONNA SONG... OF ALL TIME ❤ (if she HADN'T WON atleast 1 of 2 GRAMMYS she was NOMINATED for... I was going to call THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNIVERSE 🌏 AND JUDGE JUDY!) 😮😂❤❤❤❤
This was the third time Madonna worked with Mike Myers, I think? They had done some skits for SNL before, one of my favourites is called “Coffee Talk” that is super funny! This song is quintessential William Orbit. It sounds a lot like the liquid mix of Ray of Light and the song Amazing from Music. I feel like it sounds very 60s and fits so well the vibe of the movie. And something about her look in this video kinda reminds me of her early days, specially the Borderline video.
A good mood song with a psychodelic touch...a nice and happy memory of the end of the millennium! Hope you react to "time stood still" is a notable ballad from the film "the next best thing" where Madonna plays also a main role I think you would like it!
Definitely love William Orbit's 60s vibe to this track. And Madonnas voice is so dang beautiful! Not to mention how amazing she looks. I remember hearing this song on the radio the summer of my high school graduation in 1999! How the years fly.
One of my favorite Madonna's songs. I love how this song go much further into the psychedelic feel of the "Ray of Light" album. It is like late 60s meets late 90s perfection. It was supposedly inspired by the song "She Comes In Colors" by the 60s band Love and also by "Light My Fire" by The Doors.
Thank you for sharing that info about the inspiration for this song with us! ❤️❤️ "It is like late 60s meets late 90s perfection." Great description! Big hugs to you ❤️
I watched this video as a kid . haha I didn't understand anything probably because I was around 3 or 4 but I remember I loved the greenish color in this video .
Such a great song.. made it to #19 on the hot 100 only because of airplay. There was no physical single which was disappointing because it probably would've been her 10th #1
A real hands-in-the-air song! I remember the girls I knew rocking this look...bare sparkly top, menswear style pant, skinny stilettos. I worked for a clothing manufacturer who made lots of those "going out" tops, so I was very popular whenever I brought home a box of showroom samples 😂
I think you’re now in the time period to also react to her BMW commercial called “Star”, directed by her husband at the time Guy Richie and co-starring actor Clive Owen, it’s really funny and self deprecating, which you’ll love.😊
This video won some MTV Vmas in 1999 and Madonna thank the director and Mike Myers and said they inspired her to perverse heights on the day of the shoot. :D
Oh behave!! ❤️ I love this song. Everyone loves this song! And a great video. I think it would’ve been great if she was in the movie as well. Madonna and Mike Myers do several skits together on SNL in the 90’s. All very funny and worthy of review. Like Coffee Talk, or Wayne’s World Justify My Love Short. She will perform this live on her Drowned World Tour. You will love it. Until then, there’s the Music Album. It’s the millennium, and cowboy hats are back in. Madonna has spoken. Can’t wait for the next video! Have a groovy day. ♥️
aaaah! Beautiful stranger, one of her funniest clip video! I really love this track and I remember I saw the movie beacuse of this song.... For the story, the song "Skin" was the 6th single from ray of light.... but was replaced by this soundtrack... Thank you girls, so happy to see your reactions.... With kindness... Your beautiful frenchy stranger!!! ^^ 😁😜
Mmm "Skin" is amazing as an album track, but I don't think it would have been a good single at all. They made the right decision releasing "Beautiful Stranger", which is much more commercial and radio friendly
@@OurAnxiousReactions they’re part of the early 90s timeline, but worth seeing at any point. Wish I had thought of that when you were still in that era.
She and Mike always had great chemistry. You have to watch SNL's Coffee Talk and their Wayne's World parody of her Justify My Love video. They are both FANTASTIC and really show of her humorous side. Another one that shows off her comedic chops is her appearance in Will and Grace.
It was never featured on any of her studio albums, it was a little project between albums ut turned out a huge hit in most countries. #2 In the UK for example. She could not do wrong after the very very successful and criticly acclaimed Ray Of Light album. This showed a more playful side to her. She looks amazing in the video. Toned as crazy.
This was a fun reaction. Too bad it wasn’t commercially released as a single in the US. I have an import copy on CD. I think it was in competition with her Ray Of Light releases at the time. I think the only live performance of this was on her Drowned World Tour. Can’t wait until you get to that on your journey. ❤
She was game, playful and oozing with seduction in this video-opposite the usual goofy Mini-Me actor Mike Myers who was portraying a British spy character Austin Powers in the film that featured this song (Madonna co-wrote/produced with William Orbit) in the soundtrack. The song/video was released as a single in 1999 and was widely acclaimed, winning her 5th Grammy for Best Song Written for Visual Media, and also an MTV VMA for Best Video for a Film. ❤ and enjoyed your fun reaction here.😊
Aww, thank you! ❤️❤️ "She was game, playful and oozing with seduction in this video..." Yes! And you have to be incredibly talented to pull all those off simultaneously. ❤️
@TatoMQZD To tell you the truth the video doesnt excites me that much too 😂 --- What Im trying to say is that in this one "MADONNA MAGIC" doesnt happens. --- You know that Madonna songs that hipnotizes you and make you wanna listen and/or see It? ✓ HUNG UP ✓ THE POWER OF GOODBYE ✓ SPANISH EYES ✓ IMPRESSIVE INSTANT...and THE huge list goes on BEAUTIFUL STRANGER is just..."ok" 🥴
Fun fact: Madonna is the only artist to record a song for a parody of a James Bond movie and an actual James Bond movie.
Love that!! Thank you for sharing it with us. ❤️❤️

She really has the ability to do so many things (and so well!). Such talent and versatility! ❤️ Big hugs to you!
Exactly. When this song was released it was so refreshing to see Madonna being carefree and having fun again after many years being too serious
Madonna has a great sense of humor. Its always there even in sarcasm. With her life she had to have it!!
Absolutely! ❤️❤️
Whenever I'm having a BAD DAY...I PUT ON BEAUTIFUL STRANGER... 😊

Thank you for being here! ❤️❤️
And yes, she's absolutely beautiful in this video. Such a great song! ❤️
Fantastic reaction. Some music journalist wrote, and I paraphrase, This is The Doors if there were covered by The Bangles!
Aww, thank you! ❤️❤️
And what an absolutely perfect description - Love that!!

Love you too having a blast. Let’s talk how gorgeous she is here. The song has a 60’s Psychedelic feel to it. So fun. Keep smiling ladies.

I love this retro-60s sound by Madonna! Funny video too!

Finally! Next reaction should be “Be Careful”, duet with Ricky Martin!
Yes please react to that one too is beautiful plus time stood still

Yes. The kind of pants Madonna is wearing in this video became very popular in 1999 and 2000, after this video was relased

Hi❤❤
Great fun track. And yes ….. a summer classic.
Madonna’s humour is incredible.

😂 Love that!
"Beautiful Stranger" also won a Grammy
Hello! This is not the first time that Madonna has worked with Mike Mayers, in 1991 on Saturday Night Live they did a parody of Justify My Love.
❤️❤️
Seriously one of her best songs 😍
