To stay out of your tiled ground turn your handles to the untilled side great video I used my reverse and the blade guard to bulldoze the ground level for the grandchildren's pool . Mine is the rocket 7 I bought it with a replacement motor already unit when I retired in 1996 and ran it till the motor gave up on me about 2010 those are great tillers and can do much more than you think . Great video and have a great day and a better tomorrow.

I think you could use the camshaft and the timing cover from the old engine, if those parts are ok it would be the easiest way to solve that problem.

Thanks. That sounds like a good idea.

The timing cover fits only the specific engine.

My ariens has reverse with a single shaft.

Did you do some type of modification to it to get reverse?

@@JimODonnellFarm i did not. My engine has a bracket with an idler on it for a 3rd belt and the drive rod that engages forward has a second linkage that when pull it out it swings in another idler opposite drive side and tightens belt against opposite side of drive pulley. So that drive belt runs from that extra pulley i spoke of and around the driven pulley below and is on the right side so when you swing in the idler it tightens against right side of drive pulley. I wish i could share pictures lol. I just swapped out for a honda motor but not going to use the reverse.

@@tribounty1392 that's interesting. I have never seen one like that.

@@JimODonnellFarm heres is a link of some one mocking one up looks like on a honda engine or a predator. But basically the same concept. This guy used an idler where my roller is like the drive side but it works the same it seems.ruclips.net/video/DQq8qm5IuqI/видео.html

You can gain reverse on a single shaft engine, watch my video I made, I have a collection of ariens tillers and replaced the old 7hp tecumseh with an 8hp briggs and it works great
