Sophie had enough. Sheldon lowered her shoulder to take out Sophie. Sophie used Sheldon’s momentum, judo style, transferring her energy to assist taking her down. Huge respect, ain’t happening in her house.
I am so happy not to be the only one that noticed Sophie's skill. That neck grab and head control was a great move. At that point Sophie was in control of her and could have done anything to her that she wanted to. That Sophie chose to control Sheldon and was telling her to stop says a lot.
Then she grabbed her by her head and said, "You want some more?"
Sheldon said something to Cunningham after Sophie had been slow to get up and down court after it looked as if she had hurt that one ankle again after a Connecticut player fell on it.

Sheldon caused Sophie to miss 3 games with a chipped tooth and hurt ankle. Sheldon dove at Colson’s legs and hurt her knee. Sheldon was hand checking, pinching, pushing and pulling on CC the whole game. Sheldon poked CC in the eye then chest bumped her. This was building up and the refs didn’t do their job.
Sophie Cunningham is now my 2nd favourite player. Nothing but respect!!! The refs are absolute trash

I knew Sophie was going to be the one to finally take a stand for Caitlin. She is such a strong woman, comfortable in her own skin and proud to be playing with Caitlin because she respects Caitlin and her ability. That is why Sophie’s jersey will sell out.
She's a country girl who got her black belt in tae kwon do at age 6. Pretty sure she can grapple with the best of them. In fact, it looked like she was holding JC's head down while telling her exactly what she thought about her. :)

There was a third chest check when the center chest pushed her down. You can see that third player line up her chest push with the center. This is blatantly targeted and you can see the coordination between the other 2 players.

Jacy was *not* going for a layup. She tucked the ball and lowered the shoulder. Sophie reacted to that and used Jacy's weight against her to put her down. It was defensive and a thing of beauty.

The Liberty game was a good example of how a team can play clean, and still the refs blew a bunch of calls/no calls. The juxtaposition of the two games is jarring. But mad props to Sophie for setting boundaries on the dirty Sun players, since the refs couldn't be bothered to.
Refs favorite Liberty obviously and missed several calls in this game. Fever just strong enough to make a win.

If anyone is wondering, Sophie Cunningham showed tonight that she knows how to fight. As a decades long fan of Mixed Martial Arts I can tell you that move, where she grabs Sheldon by the back of the neck, controls her head and makes her move the way that Sophie wants her to move is 100% a martial arts move. Pick your combat sport, that is something that is done in it. Sophie did a great job of controlling Sheldon and moving her. At that point Sophie could have done anything, ANYTHING, she wanted to do with her, but she chose to control and tell her to stop. Have no doubts.
Sophie controlled her fall to keep her from getting hurt badly. Obvious to any martial artist!

Coach White was yelling at the ref asking them to eject Mabery and the refs didn't. Even before that she had multiple conversations with the ref about how Jacy Sheldon was grabbing Caitlin's arm and the refs didn't do anything and they missed other multiple calls.
