Wenn du das aber mal mit Gothic 1 von damals vergleichst sind das Welten. Ich bin mir sicher für alle Fans sieht das fantastisch aus. Auch wenn aus heutiger Sicht natürlich grafisch noch mehr gegangen wäre.

Actually music for this trailer was composed by Kamil Jędrzejewski - the guy who created music for Chronicles of Myrtana: Archolos. But no worries, music in game will be from Kai :)

Gothic 1 is the best game ever made, in my opinion. Sadly outside Middle and Eastern Europe it was pretty much ignored back then in 2001. So glad to have this opportunity to finally share it with the whole world, this time. May it become really popular. The potential is there. It's true to the original, but has more mechanics and even deeper quests and worldbuilding and the community's feedback was adapted in basically every case. That's very rare. The remake will be amazing!

I feel more changes and plot twists in this remake :D. I love 1:10 scene with convoy robbery. In original they talking about war between old and new camp, but we never see that. Not a single fight/quest. Just in their imagination xDDD. I hope its not only for trailer purpose, but really we gonna get quest/event with some fight between them.

also wenn du tatsächlich ein Gothic fan bist dann wirst du an diesen Scheiss keine Freude finden. Ich konnte keinen Einzigen Charakter erkennen. Oder Monster das Kampfssystem ist Schrott und es sieht aus wie ein Generischer Rollenspiel mist wie witcher oder Elderscrolls. Ich bleibe lieber bei gothic 1 und 2. Die werden das nie lernen. Afaik no. He had a blessed paladin sword for some reason (infused with a tear of innos) but no magic armor. The only ore armor in the first game is in xardas old tower.
Edit: in the German wiki his armor gets describes as being worthy of a king to resemble his absolute power over the colony but even the actual kings armor is not a magical ore armor.
Dont ask where Sylvio got his armor from, he fought "orcs" in the South of Myrtana, no questions asked!

1:31 - Why can't a sea pass through the barrier? People can. Objects can go in and out. A sea is water. Water can pass through the barrier. A person is made of WATER. Then people couldn't enter the barrier either.
I think sea does pass through but there are some magical-energetic discharges because of the barrier magic. For me it's cool

Moreover, in the next frame showing the full barrier, you can see that the water from the outside passes through the barrier to the inside. @Ден-втр Впервые слышу об этом "диком хайпе". Но, вообще, лето тоже сомнительная дата, у людей отпуска, каникулы, это традиционно мертвый сезон для релизов. Перенесут, поди, либо на конец августа, либо на осень.

I really hope they improve facial expressions. They all look dead-inside and that's one of the things that really made some RPG games feel alive and immersive

@23pawlik I mean, gothic already had dodges when you leveled up acrobatics. It was not directional, but we could just hoop away from combat, same with spins when attacking, while i don't remember if they were in gothic 1, but in Gothic 2 at master level, nameless hero did this kind of spin attack (if i recall correctly it was third move in a combo)

Long ago I bought the original Gothic on Steam. I was hoping for a game that I could play that would let me be immersed in its fantasy world, but instead wound up with an incredibly buggy mess with an impossible control scheme that had very few fixes that let me start it on Windows 7/8. The community were of zero help, instead saying I should "git gud" when I could barely move my character without the game crashing. It was a shame too, because I first encountered the Gothic games through their soundtrack while perusing the internet, which was probably one of the better dark fantasy soundtracks out there at the time.
It's years later, I've been waiting for this remake since it was announced. I'm looking forward to finally being able to try it.

I believe in this team and the vision of the people behind this remake. Even if the game isn't outstanding and is just good, as someone who might not be a die-hard Gothic fan-but simply has a sentimental attachment to it-I'll play it with pleasure. Even if the reviews are around 60/100, I think that would still be a sufficient success. I have a huge request for the publisher-don't kill this project even if it doesn't meet sales expectations. The industry has proven time and again that sometimes the first part is born in pain, developers have to deal with technical or financial limitations, and only the sequel opens up the full possibilities for implementing ideas and visions that there wasn't room, time, or resources for in the production of the first part (see, e.g., Kingdom Come: Deliverance). That's why it would be great to see Gothic 2 + Night of the Raven as the next remake too-after gaining experience with the Gothic 1 remake, the production time would surely be shorter (even though it's generally a longer game overall). And later (but that's probably only in a dozen years or so) a reimagined Gothic 3 as the rightful crowning of the Nameless Hero's story. The dreams of a severed head? Perhaps... I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the entire Alkimia team! :)

Did they fix the girls ? And what about the swamp camp suddenly getting fire torches instead of ore ones, completely changing the vibe of the place? The trailer does look good but I'll wait for the game and the reviews to come out before even thinking about buying. At this point the only developer studio wich has my trust left is From Software. Gothic is a big deal to me and I won't support a demake to pander to modern audiences.
