My friends and I did the exact same thing last fall going from Verona to Venice, we were walking to the correct car instead of just getting on right away, we didn't realize the train would only stop for 30 seconds! We were able to get on the next train 20 minutes later, so no big deal, but taught us a valuable lesson about train travel, just get on!
Yeah. From Desenzano to Venice there's a train avery hour until about 10pm, so, depending on when the cliffhanger happened, it should not be a big deal either... but it's oging to be tight finding a place to sleep in Venice.

The tent stay at the garden of the friend's family place is genuinely disappointing. That's just not done, if the weather is so bad, and 2 guests are camping at my garden, one can't let them sleep in the cold tents overnight (and then no toilet in the morning). Either invite them to the apartment, or provide some better logistics, or shift them to some other locals place. Can't think of this happening to me, or I'm doing this to anyone around my place (I live in Asia, not mentioning the country as that's not the point here).
Lake Garda is an absolute must for any trip to northern Italy. Because it's located between three regions, it's convenient to include in your itinerary whether as a base for day trips or as a day trip from Milan, Venice, or the Dolomites

The good news is that the further south you go, the cheaper it will be. In Sicily, I remember paying something 18 Euros a night for a hostel and I was able to eat easily under 25 Euros a day.

First time watching your videos and I like your style of traveling (reminds me of my own travels) and how it’s filmed and edited. But I gotta say that it bugs me a bit too much that you present this as low budget travel, with a 1000 euros(!) each, eating and drinking out for every meal etc. The only thing budget about it so far is that you have free places to stay and free gear..
Aye, good point. We could possibly do it on a far tighter shoestring budget. Which we do on our own all the time, because 1000euros is a lot of money.🤑 Shopping in big stores and cooking ourselves would have been far cheaper. Most of our budget also goes to beers and cafés. Thats a luxury we spoil ourselves with all the time 😅 But all that effort to save those euros wouldve made it far less enjoyable to watch since we'd have less time for activities and filming. In this series we were tied for mostly time and wanted to get as much done, all across Italy within 3 weeks, with a bike! So time and logistical constraints... 3weeks of travel in Europe on 1000euros is still very much a budget challenge it proved to be.😅 Hopefully some other youtubers improve on our series some day. I'd like to watch that too.
I lived in Italy for four years while stationed there with the Army. I was literally jumping up and down when I seen this series release. It's so nice to see others' experience of Italia. I've been here since the beginning with Southeast Asia. Thank you for all you guys do!

I predict that you will catch the 19:49 train to Verona then on to Venice. Your ticket is still valid for the next train. Now you will know where the train stops so you can get right on. The train you missed was the RE 2637 at 18:49. Besides, the 18:49 train only had a five minute connection in Verona, so you might have missed that connection anyway. We were in Italy in November and got quite familar with the trains especially the regional "less expensive" trains. When you said 1 hour and 30 minutes to Venice, I thought "Why are they taking the high speed train which has to be much more expensive". You made the smart move and saved some money!!
Yeah, you're right. We thought the fast train might be fun and useful to save time. But we were not allowed to enter with our bikes. So this connection was better. And it did save us some euros 😃👌
Yeah we already finished our trip and I'm now editing the trip afterwards from home since each episode is like a +30-minute movie. It takes ages to edit these. But where we end up is a mystery, or at least to some who are not as attentive as you 😉
Im so glad that you guys are back at it again after such an awful 2 years we had which felt like normality wont be here again, but we are through it and things are even better, looking forward to more episodes of this beautiful country, and the hidden gems that lie in italy, i would love to see more bike adventures throughout instead of trains and ferrys theirs more adventure with bike and the discoveries are endless, this would help the budget stretch real far but i suppose commitments i.e time from work are stretched i guess maybe in future this would be amazing, paddy thinking of you mate cant wait to see you on the camera as well 😀❤👏📽 love you guys. ❤
