I'm an old lady who was an "Elvis crazy" young teen. I still remember when my older brother said "In a year, no one will know his name." LOL!!!!! {Saw him perform in Detroit in 1957. Still have the ticket stub}

The picture where they sit opposite each other and hold hands is such a beautiful one. He loved his mum so much... Reunited, where there is no more sadness or goodbyes.
Beautifully done and the music is perfect. As they wait for Glady's hearse to come by, father and son, it brings me back when I was doing the same thing, when my mom died. A terrible time that I can sure relate to. I was an only child and was close to my mom like he was to his mom....all of a sudden, you feel like an orphan. RIP, beautiful man.

Nice to see how far they came, seems like Gladys is happy when they are building and filling the swimming pool and cooking with Elvis hugging her from behind, she was smiling and so happy for him, of course he did not have to do or be a star for her to be proud of him... It looks like the conversation in the bedroom was a sad one, most likely he was telling her he had to go to the Army, and from that part, you can see that she's crying and it's breaking her Heart... I do know she was not in good health, but, I think the stress just hit her so much and too often because he was gone, she just couldn't take it and gave up, I think she cried so much it killed her... a loving Mother who adored her son and missed him was too hard for her to live through. I think Elvis favored his Mom and had her ways, I read that Elvis and Lamar were home from school and Gladys got mad about something, and her temper let loose and Elvis and Lamar looked at each other and Elvis said, You're afraid of her too when she would loose her temper, I thought that was funny the way Elvis said that to Lamar... So, he knew he could get in trouble and fast with her but not often, all Moma's have that in them so they can teach the children the things they should know to be a good Soul and not get hurt nor hurt anyone else... I love seeing her in pictures ❣️ And, when they line up the pictures of the PRESLEY women, first is his mom in her younger days, then Cilla, Lisa, & Riley...looking back, Riley even favors Gladys and Cilla, but, Lisa is just like her Daddy ❣️ It's really amazing and good. Elvis was still very young at 24 he should of given himself more time and not be taken by a pretty face. He was just out of the service and not knowing how his career would go. I think it was a real struggle for him getting involved with Priscilla. He should of waited and concentrated on his career as he was also in love with Ann Margret. Things might of turned out much different and he might still be alive.

When Elvis lost his momma, he lost his anchor in life, his best friend and confident but most of all someone who truely understood and loved him unconditionally. The day Gladys was laid to rest a part of Elvis went with her. I think Elvis always blamed himself for his mother's passing, and carried that guilt throughout his life.
