- It was a Texas-sized celebration of an Easter tradition that helped kickoff the holiday weekend. Over 1,000 people gathered at the Austin Oaks Church in southwest Austin for the fourth annual Easter Eggstravaganza.

I feel like it's not really fun when it's juts thousands if eggs laying in a flat field it's more fun to have like play structures to hide them around or inside
we did one at a family reunion and they were hidden *EVERYWHERE.*
the guy who owned the house and the land (my great Uncle) knew the *_TOTAL_* of eggs hidden (96, 8 dozen eggs, plus four "prize" eggs that had a small amount of quarters hidden in them and were well-hidden) the only things we knew for certain was that there were no eggs hidden inside the house, and no eggs hidden past the large ash tree in his backyard. (one of the prize eggs was hidden in the split of the tree, on the south side facing away from the house.)
the younger kids went out and found as many as they could, then when they collectively came back and said they couldn't find anymore, the teenagers/adults went back out with the kids after lunch for a 2nd hunt. it took about 2 hours but we finally found the last 6 eggs. (the kids found all 4 prize eggs without our help.)
some were obvious, but many were well-hidden; one of them was inside a drainage ditch!
