      According to this, logs double once near 2006 whereas oil doubled from 4ish to 9, then dropped near 7 then back up to near 10. They chose a poor approach claiming log pricing remained the same when instead they should've focused on the cost of logs being near one third of oil.

    • @samkom33
      @samkom33 4 месяца назад

      some ash goes by itself, probably most down to the bottom ash pan, but you can and should brush down ash from say under the self cleaning heat exchangers,
      every time you empty the ash pan between filling the boiler with new wood but it can vary depending on wood type you use.
      each oven usually comes with say brushes and scrapes needed to remove ash.

In the case that you're a wannabe lumberjack from USA and still burn wood in those barrelstoves and don't know anything besides your cousins, for your info, a lambda sensor is the similar as in a car, it senses if the burn is complete or not, thus no creosote.

    How many times does the company name needs to be repeated in 7 minute video?
    No actual info on the longevity, cleaning, efficiency and investment cost.
    All the smart functions of this boiler are totally unnecessary and only raise the price.
    Lambda sensor is a total BS as gasifier boiler has peak efficiency at full power and is best controlled by exhaust temperature with fan speed. Lambda only adds 500-800€ to the price.
    (Intentionaly won't mention manufacturer of my boiler, but they make em also over 800kW, and offer the smart and dumb ones)
    I have an 35kW dumb gasifier that only cares about efficient burning and lowers the output only if 2500l of storage capacity is getting up to temperature.
    Has big upper firebox so i never needed to reload it in 5 years and gets all storage just up to 80°C along with heating the house and 400l hot water tank.
    Cleaning out every 2-3weeks about 8-12l of ash (bucket is 15l and i never filled it over 3/4 while cleaning)
    The exchange registers are twice the size of those shown here and efficiency is around 90% with dry wood. Burning temperature in lower chamber must be well over 1000 °C as i found molten glass from sand on the bark while cleaning the ceramic deflector and flute temperature is around 120-150 °C (stickers on inox flute elbow are still white after 5 years)
    Whole system was 6500€, gasifier 3k, 2 storage tanks, hot water tank, pumps, 3 way motorised valves, copper pipes and generic differetial controller to steer the valves and pumps. I installed it myself.
    Did the same install last 3 years in 6 friends houses after they seen the simple system and showed me the quotes to install the SMART and expensive boilers from myriad of mostly German or Austrian manufacturers all for over 12.000€ and up to 18.000€ for similar setup.

    Strange sense of humour, calling those little pieces of wood, logs.

    • @marcioarend1
      @marcioarend1 6 лет назад +3

      Log splitting is the act of splitting firewood from logs that have been pre-cut into sections (rounds, bolts, billets[3]). This can be done by hand, using an axe or maul, or by using a mechanical log splitter. When splitting a log by hand, it is best to aim for the cracks (called checks), if there are any visible.[4] Some types of wood are harder to split than others, including extremely hard woods, as well as types like gum which an axe will often bounce off of, and cherry, which is typically so twisted it's near impossible to get a clean split, and elm. Any type of wood, being thick or tall, having large knots or twisted grain can make it difficult to split. In some cases, it is easiest to aim for the edges and split the log into multiple pieces. Batoning is splitting small pieces of wood for kindling or other purposes sometimes with a batoning chisel, a special chisel with one sharp side used for splitting.

      They're talking about particulate emissions CO2 doesn't matter

    • @HakkaDakka
      @HakkaDakka 3 года назад

      Yes but the wood used would still give of the same CO2 rotting in the forest. That's not though why it's low emission. As Dan C is right, as the emissions are CO2 neutral with farmed wood, this provides low particulate emissions - which are a big contribution to polar warming due to capturing solar energy instead of snow reflecting it. Soot is black you know.
