This is one my FAVORITE fish dishes! What about you? Let me know what's your favorite! Thanks for all your love and support! We already passed 1.000 subscribers in just FOUR days! Amazing and quite unbelievable since our other channel STAY CLASSY VLOG took more than a year to reach that milestone!
Looks awesome! In my opinion it’s more less like a Spanish seafood Paella. Paella is also the term for the cooking pot. What goes into it is totally up to individuals.
I want to thank you for showing the world one of the best cuisines in the world, we Portuguese have one of the best cuisines in the world but we are very bad advertisers. continue the very good work.
Home run AGAIN! Hungry and drooling! Can't wait to get back to Portugal and the great seafood! Thanks and great job on the video content and the filming and editing by Joen.
I love how you make the effort to distinguish your personal preference and the traditional preferences! So many, I mean so many channels never does that! And the similarities you made between lasagna and cataplana is spot on! Keep up the amazing videos 😍
Where to start? You both are amazing! Joen makes me laugh (in a good way! 😄) and Amelie makes me smile everytime. And now I discovered your foodchanel! And Amelie cooks and she cooks very well. Don't know why, but I wasn't expecting this. Maybe because I see you in restaurants a lot 😅. And Joen, seriously.... she's beautifull, classy, and funny.... AND she cooks Portuguese food! Marry her man; she's perfection in feminine form 😄
Well done Amalie. Amazing Cataplana. I will eat that every day! Dont forget your Arroz de Pato. I've seen it and it deserves to be here. A mention to Joen. Well done to!
I love cação in a cataplana (for our foreign friends, cação is a small spieces of shark that live in our shores and make for very good eating. We also eat raia, which is a type of stingray fish, which also makes for very good eating).
Thank God I am finished watching because I am soooo hungry now! Cataplana was the first dish I had when I came to Portugal 20 years ago . Looks soooo yummy I just wish we could smell and taste it. Congratulations to both of you. Maybe you will have your own TV show some day. Have a great day guys . See you soon 💖🏴
Well, I'm a huge fan of cooking channels, but yours has definitely that little something that makes it different from everything I've seen! It's both the way you cook and the way it's filmed that make it so original! You both do a tremendous job, congratulations and long life to your new channel!
That’s looks very delicious, I was born in Madeira and now live in Australia for last 52 years, yes seafood here is expensive but we manage to cook our home meals from the old country
I love how you make everything so beautiful, it's all presented beautifully. You are so good at the history element. Omg I am so hungry now. Can't wait to see more. x
Awesome channel Amalie. Congratulations on you new channel, and thank you for sharing your talents. By the way, the tool you used to pull out the fish bones are tweezers. 😁
Good Day Amalie, I was looking for a Portuguese Chicken recipe, I landed on your channel by coincidence and I am happy I did. This Cataplana is a beautiful dish and it looks succulent. Your tomatoes look amazingly delicious too, especially when you sliced them. They look so juicy and meaty, I was salivating like a dog with a bone.
Love cataplana. Question: I don’t have the cataplana dish, could this work on a pressure cooker or what pan would you recommend? Also, could you attempt carne alentejana or a nice chicken piri.
Yes it could. :) yoy can even use a wok with a lid on. I was told that you can add a damp towel over the lid to give the feel of a cataplana (unless you use gas) Never tried it tho,
Congratulations Amalie! Not only you have amazing cooking skills and you are very sweet and charming, but also your sweetheart is an amazing video editor. High quality, guys. I really enjoy and appreciate watching you! Keep doing it, you guys deserve lots of success!

Good job on the dish! But this is what we call "Caldeirada" and you just cook it inside a "Cataplana". The difference is that in the real "Cataplana" we don't use potatoes! Kind of a technicality 😅
Thanks for watching but I don’t think that’s entirely true 😃 The chef who taught me to cook cataplana is Portuguese and he used potatoes in it :) we haves video about it on our other channel ❤️
@@howsitcooking2478 thanks for sharing portugueses cuisine! 😃 I'm not trying to be a pain in the a** 😅 is the chef that taught you from the Algarve? Amalie raising the bar! More complex and equally yummy dishes incoming!

You got a great set of knives. It looks like a great quality set of knives.
They are amazing and I am super happy with them. Nothing is more important for me in kitchen but nice and sharp knives.
Nice! Bay leaves are great to add. Usually fish goes with coriander but parsley is also very nice! Lemon juice is a must with fish. Well done!

Where do you buy good knives in Madeira?
My kitchen, cristlandia or sifarmadeira
Tweezer/Pinça. The cataplana looks great, I wonder what is next?
Haha 😂 thanks.
Next is a dish that is very famous here in Portugal. And almost all regions have their own take on it 🤌🏽😘
Is there a substitute for a Cataplana pan? Will a wok with a tight lid do? Thanks for the recipe.
You can use a wok and place a damp towel over (not if you have a glass stow tho)

He will look very good because his on a diet 🤩😅❤️
@@howsitcooking2478 sooo... filming these videos must be torture 😂 well...so far it's healthy food except the francesinha.😅
