I kinda wanna see a video made on what Blizzard North's version would've looked like outside of the screenshots like what the story, classes etc. Could've been like if this actually happened.
btw the first few screenshots are actually the early stages of the d3 we got today. i was talking about this with an old blizz north developer. at that stage the blizz north studio was moved to irvine and they worked together on this and there was a bit of a fued between blizz north employees/irvine that were d2 fans and the other irvine people who wanted to make it more cartoony.
@J.D. yeah its to bad. you can tell in the heaven act that there is actually quite a bit of color and light yet its done with taste to the original games. a game doesnt have to be grey and devoid of color to not be cartoony. its quite stylish without going into the cartoon territory which i thought both diablo 1 and 2 had a lot of style i never got why blizzard south thinks they had to go to wow art style for diablo 3, like they thought if they didnt it would just look like any other game. they could of made something very stylized without doing what they did
Activision Blizzard (Irvine team) wanted it to be a WOW clone which backfired cause not only did the D2 fans get pissed but the WOW players gave up on the game after a week. So they gained neither and lost both.
Bring back blizzard north
