Beaucoup de patience, beaucoup de minutie et une grande maîtrise de l'art du kumiko. Le résultat est magnifique. Bravo et merci pour ce très agréable moment.
This one is on a different level. The editing is beautiful, the music is perfect and wow, this Kumiko panel looks amazing! Thanks for the all your videos, they are a major source of inspiration for me! Cheers
Absolutely beautiful! As I watched and listened to the video I thought to myself, how zen and therapeutic it must have been while you worked on this. Except for the lost router bit day of course LOL. A true joy to watch. Thank you
Just this morning I was cutting strips for a hexagonal grid. I kept thinking, 'wow, my fingers are so close to the blade', and 'wow, thank goodness for my SawStop' - as if this is the sole means of staying safe. Then I saw your support bar for keeping the stock flush against the fence. So simple, yet...so clever. I made one immediately after. Thank you for showing so much of your process.
Thanks! Good to help! But I use that only on that side, when I move up, to the reverse angle I cannot use it, because I have to eyeball the mid point of the cut, gently press it L-R. And also I dont have enough space there, I was stupid to make the sled short. I wanna disassemble it soon to make some more slots and I will bring that fwd fence back to make room for a stick like that and see how it goes
Absolutely amazing. Such creativity and precision with cutting/planing the pieces and joining them - with exact measurements. You got some fancy tools.
Thank you very much Seth! Honestly it is one of the few projects I finish where I don't have much to complain, and sleep well :) For others, there is always have something that bothers me :)
Thanks! I just saw it from the plane :) Similar, I was joining the ship in Japan, and had a domestic flight just over Fuji. I missed the seats side, was the other side, so I had to disturb a nice japanese couple from their seats to take a picture :)

Extremely accurate work, as seen in the last shots towards the end! Adrian, you seem to use your low angle smoother in almost every video for almost all tasks requiring planing (except this video haha). Do you find it to be as versatile as you make it look?
Thanks! Good observation :) Usually for planing those strips I use both the LA and Jp one, but here I shown only the kanna since it's a japanese project. I use them both here, one for rough and one for final, depending on the particular wood species and weirdness of the grain, sometimes the kanna works better on last. Because I do a lot of small work and use a shooting board I found the LA plane more suitable for this. I have in plan to get a bevel up one as well, probably the custom planes from veritas, a 4 1/2 or 5
Just beautiful. Thanks for sharing. I have DK's books and enjoy the read, and his jigs, any chance you can sharea video about yours (e.g. the tablesaw jig) and why you use these over the traditional ones?
Thanks! The table saw jigs you can find them well explained on Mike Farington videos. I use this for speed, filling the inner spaces manually already took me more than a week, didn't want to double that :)
Great video, Adrian. Your Kumiko landscape looks very beautiful! 👍🏻 It's a shame that the books (by Des King, Kumiko Volumes 2 and 3) are only available in English. 😭 The block of wood where you beveled the wood pieces with the chisel. Could you please introduce the angles and how wide and deep the grooves are? 🤔 Have a nice weekend. 🙏🏻
Thanks Gunter! The blocks have 8mm wide groove (same as the strips), and depth is not critical, a little more than strip thickness. Angles used here are 15, 30, 45, 60 and 75. Also 90
I've missed your content in my notifications, great to see another beautiful video from you. ❤️ Did you always have that tablesaw and bandsaw? I only remember seeing you using hand tools. 😁

Another masterpiece, such a beauty and talent... thank you for inspiring and sharing Adrian. 👏👍 May I ask which software do you use to generate the project on the computer ?
Thank you very much! Love your work too! Kumikodesigner.com I wrote in the description too, its a free web app created by a fellow kumiko aficionado :)
That is amazing! What are the little pegs and the little hammer that you used to hold the work in the frame? I have been making a lot of frames and I love how that looks
Thanks! That little hammer was too cute not to have it😀 It was the first time I've use it here. Also the method, didn't knew how to secure that more quick and nice, didn't want to loose time looking to buy some specific hardware and this came to my mind. Those pegs are some long dowels bought from a craft shop, luckly they were already pointy at one end.
What an insane amount of work went into this 9 min clip...awesome!
Thanks! Probably there were 9 days :)
I keep imagining a collaboration with Clickspring. I don't know what sort of brass & wood construction they'd end up with, but it would be gorgeous.
I wanted to add Dorian Bracht when I realized that he had already made a comment.
I don’t know where to begin. Amazing work Adrian.
Thanks man!👍
This is simply phenomenal, among the finest woodworking available to watch anywhere. Thanks for sharing.
As always, its a pleasure to watch you work Adrian. Hope to see more soon
Many thanks!

Splendid !
WOW! the precision...and the patience. Thank you for sharing 🙏🏻

Beautiful work!
I give this home kumiko of the decade
Awesome, I love how the center of each unit acts as a focal point.
Thanks! I like also how they "glow" in those centers where all the pieces gather

Wonderful! Congratulations! I from Brazil.
What a fun way to experiment with several patterns. I always love the geometric look of kumiko designs. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you!
You never cease to amaze...with the woodwork and with the videos. Well done, sir!

One of the best kumiko arts I've seen so far, beautiful work! Thanks a lot for sharing.
Thank you!
Beautiful! I think this is the first where I've seen so many patterns in the same work!
Thank you! Oh, I'm a little baby in kumiko, see the videos on youtube from some real japanese kumiko workshops
That is awesome! Great job!
A piece of art. Amazing precision, very beatiful
Thank you!
Complimenti bellissimo lavoro
Masterclass !!
This is the most impressive use of design / kumiko I've come across on RUclips. Really a piece of art. Great job!
Thank you so much! But I cannot beat those Japanese guys with those gigantic and complex panels :)
Bravo maestro!
very pretty!
Thanks Dorian!
Awesome
Amazing work!! Thanks sharing your video.
You make thinks look simple by putting allot of thoughts into preparation combined with amazing skills that you master. This is music to my ears! 😃
Thanks 👍
Top job!
So beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
amazing. wish I had the patience and skill!
Wow this really looks great, and the fuji image really shows through. Great work!
Thanks! I wished I would have filled Fuji with more dense patterns, but the space was too small for complicated ones :)
This is absolutely stunning work, this is the stuff I aspire to do one day. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Vaya obra de arte
I have made Kumiko before. This was a lot of work, and well executed.
Thanks!

Thank you very much!
Beautiful! Well done!
Thank you!
Well done! Well done indeed.
Thanks!
Wow turned out awesome. Very meticulous work. I like the wedges used to hold it in the frame
Thank you very much! Oh geez, I lost one day just searching in the shop for that bloody slot router bit to make the corner keys :))
Excellent!
Thanks!

beautiful, congrats adrian!

Awesome work, Adrian! I climbed Mt. Fuji when my ship was in Yokosuka. It was a serious hike, I can tell you. Love the panel.

@@AdrianPreda Ah! (Sometimes we must importune!)
Nicely done. I enjoy seeing that. And I've got to say your choice in music is perfect. Suits the mood of the piece and the construction.
Thank you very much! Probably this is the most time and nerve consuming thing of the editing, finding the music, and I know it's still not perfect :)
Beautifull work, and very nice editing, pleasure to watch thanks for the effort!

Hello Adrian,
Thanks for the answer.
I've missed your content in my notifications, great to see another beautiful video from you. ❤️
Did you always have that tablesaw and bandsaw? I only remember seeing you using hand tools. 😁
Thanks! I have them from abt 1-2 years, bandsaw a little older. I do the rough ugly work with them, final touch is always handtools 🙂
@@AdrianPreda - Ahh ok. 😅
Have you shown them before in your videos? I might just have forgot. 🤦🤣
Oh yes, 2 videos ago in my new shop tour. I have a cnc as well 🙂 It was the thing that triggered me into woodworking, now I use it once a year😀
@@AdrianPreda - I must me hit by Alzheimer-light, man. 🤣
Superb work. And the music is always on point.
One question, what kumiko bandwidth for the panel and what is the kerf of the blade?
Thanks! 30mm between verticals and 2.8mm blade so the kerf will become 2.9-3mm
¡Felicitaciones!
¡Excelente trabajo! Un gran nivel de detalle.
Una pregunta. ¿La madera que se usa es blanda, dura o semi dura?

Mostly soft woods, like pine and basswood. But for nice colors I tried also hard woods like walnut, oak etc
