I was just starting out DJing roughly around that time and lost my mind at the possibilities from live performance in DJing. Still a bit away from that goal but it still blows my mind to this day. Like this sort of stuff started the whole button pushing/controllerism performances these days.
He's not scratching. He's remapped the jog wheels so that instead of scratching/navigating the song, they now control effects. You can see in the video when he moves the jog wheels the effects sliders move along with it. For example, at 0:10, the effects panel on the top right is in sync with the jog wheels' movement. This occurs throughout the video.

Hopefully picking one up Saturday, Selling my old Pionner CDJ 100s X2 & Numark Mixer. I use Pionner 1000 MK2 / 3 in clubs but dont have the room in the studio for them so this is the perfect upgrade! Powerful, small & has everything I do in clubs on 1000's & DJM mixers plus more!
