  • I met an older gentleman that was interested in selling some old engines and truck parts. He has 70 acres full of stuff. He wanted to take me to show me his old garage from the 50s. The place was terribly overgrown and wooded. When we got their he learned that it had burned long ago. This place is deep in the woods and he didn't even know it had burned.

I wasn't aware of the call for flathead ford engines was still a hot ticket. I am seventy three and they were in many ways just a engine that would self destruct in many of our rigs we used them in. I do know the mercury engine was a bit more for the fact it had the longer stroke crank. I'm not sure if that made the 239 into the 254 cubic inch or not... I know one thing, nice sounding pipes on a good many of the ones I had... I also used the lincoln 337 in a few of our F7 logging trucks

They aren’t a hot ticket. I just like them.
