I really appreciate the down-to earth simplicity of your explanations . You make abstract art more engaging to those of us who are on the outside looking in
Hi I've just stumbled across your art work and love it, my hardest thing I struggle with is composition in my work, I only got back into art a year ago I think I've come a long way, learning from you tube, I loved it at school but that was many years ago now was told to go to art school but I never did, Iam now obsessed, I've been doing a lot of gelli printing and, mark making for collage, to add to my work, I love the earthy neutral colours too than you for sharing your videos 😊
Very good again, thank you Nick. Funny though, before you mentioned putting a playing card shape over that upper third area, I had my eye on that area thinking and wishing there was something there. Maybe revisit? Love it otherwise!!
Thanks for this. I love the process of making abstract art but don’t have discipline with composition. The good news is that I go for it. Things eventually come together but the language around weight will be helpful. Also, love that you’re a runner (too) - run, art, yoga camp after covid? 🏃🏻♀️🧘🏻♂️🎨
Thanks so much for this Nicholas, your commentaries are always gratefully received. I get what you are saying but have 2 questions, not super critical at all.. But... 1/the term 'Tettertotter', I am not familiar with it, is there a translation for those of us Downunder? 2/ is it possible that we get to see this piece once installed at your Sisters place? My thinking is when looking at balance, value etc... There is an impact visually from the surrounding colours on the wall around the work. Be great to see it on a plain white wall or in final environ, so we can really appreciate the subtleties. Cheers Zane. 😎
see-saw on a play ground with one child at one end of a beam and achild at the other end of the beam and they take turns pushing up off the ground in a rocking motion. If one child is much bigger than the other, the lighter one has a hard time coming down unless the bigger child pushes up. (fulcrum in the middle).
What is your feeling about the paintings being produced with liquid acrylic pouring? The colors are sticking but often times there isn't much though given to focal points and other aspects of good composition that you talk about in your videos?
Oh, I love this piece! Wow…I visually just popped into joyful sensitivities!🎨

When the balance is perfect I get a feeling of harmony when I view it. Like a perfect love.
Thank you.
Fantastic. A big pizza coming out to you. A fine balance.
I am glad you showed the result and enjoyed your process once more. I love the result. Your sister is lucky.
Love this piece :)
