So much value in this podcast. I play aces very differently now. Constantly on the lookout for good SPR for me when i wanna slowplay aces. Past two sessions up QUITE abit after watching this video. Thank you gary and mike. Best poker podcasters. So so so generous!
A nice exception to not slowplay AA is against nits and abc players postflop that you know they’ll never bluff you more than once. Against those, u want to fast play preflop in order to stack their AK, KK and QQ that will stack off vs you if you’re known to have 4b bluffs for jamms or even AK in your 4bj range. Also get full value pre and avoid Kx and Ax flops.
Phenomenal point, I wish I made it in the episode. There are certain players (particular when playing live) who you know are just always strong when they 4-bet -- may as well just shove pre against those people (as long as you don't think they'll hero fold Queens or something).
Another great video! I wonder if you guys could make a video on how to proceed in 3-bet pots OOP and IP on the flop. I feel like this is where I and a lot of players have the biggest room for improvement. It comes up frequently and the pots are typically much bigger. so it really matters a lot how you play them. the meta and theory in single raised pots is much better understood by most players. You guys make amazing content. i cant believe it is for free. what i appreciate most is that you dont overcomplicat things. its easy to understand. I was able to fix a lot of long standing leaks in my game
Ex 1 doesn't apply to most 1/2 games in my experience. 4 bets are so rare. Even 3 bets to my opens are rare. Typically just get a few, if not several callers pre, no 3 bets. Tables very of course and I i size accordingly. I certainly don't sise up w top hands to avoid exploitative folds that I'm typically able to do vs the field 😉

Topic Suggestion: Top 3 strategies that make sense in cash games that dont in tournaments and vice versa.

Should you always 4bet preflop when it is multiway?
If you have aces? Absolutely! Multi-way = more people that can call, and you get to play s much bigger pot!

fuck slowplaying AA i tried this the other day my op had kk and hit runner runner for a straight on the river
A 2 SPR isnt that small. Starting with 100bb if all the money goes in postflop unimproved aces are usually beat online.
What do you consider a small SPR if not 2?
A 2 spr means if there is $45 in the pot and you have $90 behind, that is SUPER small.
@@mbradycf I guess from a cash game perspective it is small, but from a MTT perspective, a 2 SPR on the flop is very different than a 1 SPR
